Von Shweikert no more?

I just stopped at an audio/video shop in the city last night to look at a pair of VR4jr's and was told by the owner that Von Schweikert has gone out of business for the 5th time and has not been selling or making speakers for a while. Does anyone know anything about this? I hope he was missinformed because I planned on purchasing an entire theatre setup from them some time this year.

I heard only the VR1 & VR2 models were being discontinued. I didn't hear anything about him closing the whole shop down. Hopefully not.

they discontinued the VR1,VR2,LCR15 center channel speaker and the small subwoofer model that Darla owned for a short time. it cost over five grand for thier cheapest model now. they are alienating the Budding Audiophile in favor of well heeled snob appeal.

Something just smelled fishy over there...with their online discount sales and such..and discontinued new products.Hey Darla,today i went to the www.higherfi.com website that they had used as a clearinghouse and the small sub,VR1,VR2 and LCR 15 center channel speaker were non existant.:eek: thier cheapest loudspeaker is the VR 4JR mkII and it retails for $5695.00 .thanks....WCW III
