I finally got the Cinenova Grande hooked up on Friday and I couldn't be happier :D I can't wait to start pouring through my DVD collection again. I was really impressed with all the subtle sounds I'm able to hear now. For example on Pirates of the carribean 2 you feel like your actually on the ship with every creak and strain of the wooden hull being fully pronounced. I've also noticed a huge improvement with music. I popped in romance of the violin by Joshua Bell and it was awesome. I can't wait to throw some more music at it this week. Finding an AV rack was a challenge based on the amp's 144 pound weight but I decided on the Omnimount STELLARG304G and set the amp on the bottom rack. It's a pretty nice rack but the instructions are the worst I've ever seen for any product. If you buy one of these chuck the instructions right away they do nothing but confuse you. Anyway thanks to everyone for their advice. I'll take some pics and post them soon..

Nice to hear you are happy with your purchase, going with a separate amp over a AVR is generally a big leap forward in sound quality, especially with a amp like the Cinenova. I have been very happy with mine the last 3 years.
Sherardp, New the 5ch usually go for $3000-$3500 if you buy from an authorized dealer. Unauthorized normally $2500-$3000 for a new unit. If you buy from a used one they normally go from $2000-$2500 in good condition.
If you are patient you should be able to find one for less then $2000 in good contition, you never know when someone might have a system chance and be selling one here on club polk...

You fell right into my trap :D :Evil Laugh:
The Earthquake sounds much better because it is a superior amp. The same result would manifest if this amp was rated at 100 watts, because fewer than 10 watts are used 95% of the time.

I watched 300 on the setup last night. Eventhough the movie wasn't great it didn't really matter because it sounded awesome :p Now I need reccomendations on music to play through it. Any really good DVD concerts (besides eagles already rented it) on DTS that I should check out?

What does your wife think about the amp & the difference Sab? Is it as minor an improvement as it was predicted to be?

She loves it. We watched the shooter the night I hooked it up and she lit up when we watched the napalm scene. She turned to me with a big grin and said "Is it hot in here" :D She's also noticed all the extra subtleties in the movies like hearing every fly that was buzzing around the dead persian bodies in 300. The Pioneer has an Ipod hook up which she uses regularly. I'm not a big fan of playing MP3's on the setup:rolleyes: but to tell you the truth the Ipod has never sounded better. Overall its been a win win. Thanks for twisting my arm ;) and sending me down the Cinenova path. At this point I'd recommend a 200-300 WPC amp to anyone considering it. Now if only I could swap out my TV with a projector hmmmmm!:p

Yes!:D
I can't help you with the projector. I'm still using a big, clunky, heavy as all get out 32" CRT! Which will stay till it dies.
Which is only a few pounds heavier than your amp.   144lbs? YIKES!!!!!! How'd you lift it or did you leave it sitting on the floor? Oh I ache just thinking about it.

Good thing he didn't come to me first. I might have recommended this.... 3 1/2 wpc would have been enough, right?

I just put it (took two people) on the bottom shelf of the omnimount rack. The shelf has 3/8 thick tempered glass and a metal cross bar. I have to admit the tempered glass strained when we put it down. The rack had ten inches of clearance from the next shelf up and is an open air design for maximum airflow.
