Hey Guys,

1. Polk RT600 tower speakers, 8/10, local pickup only, brand new tweeters, $old to Greg

Picked these up just recently here locally. Wanted to try out something in the RT / RTi lineup. Supposedly one tweeter was somewhat distorted, turns out both were blown. Replaced with SL6511s from Polk ($72+tax each PF prices). So that's $160 just worth of tweeter parts. Still not burned it. GF wants bookies instead of towers, and tweeters are even with/below bed level, so probably best to take her advice. One 1" scuff to outside of one speaker (pic didn't come out well), no other real noticeable flaws on them. Overall, very good shape. Only one set of feet, a second can be ordered for $10 from Polk, manuals included.

8 ohm, 90 sensitivity (I believe).

Will trade (+ cash if needed) for a nice set of bookshelf speakers; would love something like ebony LSi7s.

Tell me more about the small sub - might work well in my wife's office.

Well, it's a downfiring 8" sub. It's some off-brand that I think sell direct to buyers. Got it off CL, I believe. Way better than the sub I had with my old 2.1 speaker system. I actually like it better than my current Denon S-301 sub, which is surprising because the Denon is part of a $1500 retail system and weights about 40 lbs.

Black vinyl faux wood trim over what I suppose is MDF. Has RCA inputs, line level inputs / outputs, gain/volume control. 50 watts RMS, 80 or something peak watts. Carpet spikes, front port, about 10" high, 10" width and 14" long.

Looks decent, sounds decent. Can shoot you over a pic or two when I get home.

I think Engtaz is looking for a pre just like the Kenwood, may I request a hold on it?

RT600s still available!!! Make me an offer and come pick them up someone!!! Getting ready to post elsewhere for sale, need to make some room.

Engtaz - you should have the parcel today. I sent you some tracking info. Should arrive safely; it's packed well and wasn't that heavy.

Dave - still need to drop off your sub to Russ's. Should get up there this weekend sometime. Let me know if you need it sooner.

All arrived safely. What is weird is that the Kenwood pre sounds better then the Lexicon CP1 pre.

Again Thanks

I had a garage sale at my parents (they moved recently) and had the kenwood pre set up with the RT600s, a Carver tfm-6cb, and a cheapo Kenwood turntable.

Put on some old vinyl (Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, etc.) and thought it sounded awesome.

My mom listened for a bit and said "I don't remember vinyl ever sounding that good."

So, I guess sometimes you luck out and the cheap stuff sounds as good as / better than the expensive gear in certain situations.

Bump. Lowered price. Ready to move these along to a new home. Don't make me give these to my brother; he's got enough of my stuff.

I mean, for $175 speakers, it would seem a bit silly to spend another $100 or whatever on shipping, packaging, etc. just to see them likely get damaged.

If you really want them, maybe I'll check into shipping, but there would have to be some better local options for that $275 or so you'd be spending on your local CL, or Audiogon, or here on the forum.
