After reading many positive reviews about the company & the owner Paul in particular, I dediced to give his TADAC a try. An interesting design concept so I figured it's worth a try with his 21 day home trial. It should arrive shortly & a review will follow once it's up & running. Stay tuned!!! :D

Hello,
I agree his site is very interesting. I ordered some replacement knob covers for my Fisher 500C last week from him. I hope the DAC sounds good.

Congrats Phil. I look forward to your review and how it compares to the AVA Ultra DAC.
Good Luck,

I'm looking forward to hearing how this DAC performs. But for now I'm in a bit of a quandry!!. I'm heading over to Stephens place (http://www.questforsound.com/) tomorrow with another audio buddy of mine. Stephen already knows I have a woodie for the AAD 2003 floorstanders. He's got a pair on demo (Maple, not my choice of finish though)) & he said ...not a problem, take 'em home & give 'em a workout. Damn I'm tempted. My wife might kill me but what the hell!!! Help me!!! What should I do???? They're too damn big to sneak into the house!! :D LOL

Just do it! Scratch that itch. If you don't like them, return 'em. Otherwise, keep 'em. What's the quandry here?

Funds, baby, funds & the Maple finish are the stumbling blocks. As far as the sound goes...freakin awesome!!! to say the least. I'd be out on a limb money wise but other than those those two items there is no quandry!! At times I wonder why I ever got hooked into this hobby!!

It's a trap man....my dealer does it too.
Dealer: "Hey Mike, just for fun take this home and play with it for a while in your system...let me know what you think of it"
Me: "Thanks Gary, but I am not really in any financial position to be spending money on the system right now"
Dealer: "That's okay, I just want to get your opinion on it.....just for fun"
Me: "Alright...sure"
Take it home, jaw drops....floored...chills run up my spine. Return it to my dealer.
Me: Wow this is phenomenal. I really enjoyed it.
Then be disappointed by the drop in performance. Be haunted by it and go crazy until I break down and pull the trigger even though there is no way I should be spending the money.
Then repeat.
Let us know what you buy because your gonna....it's inevitable

Dude, what are you thinking??? You gotta do this.
I've been in your boat many times and the money issue always resolves itself. Life is too short to deny yourself what you love.

Great, now you are convincing me in the process as well.

anyone tried out those 150 watt subs on tubeaudiodesign.com? for 300 bucks can it be worth it? that seems like the price of the driver and amp alone if they were decent. any thoughts on it?

I really like my TAD-150 Signature preamp. So it will be good to hear what you think of the TAD vs the AVA. AVA stuff seems to get a lot of respect. DACs are new to me but it looks like you have been using one of the better ones and may be getting an even better one. Steppin up once again!
