So today I'm watching a DVD on my HT and all of a sudden I hear a loud BEEP BEEP BEEP and then everything turns off.
I look at my APC power unit and on the front, the "AVR Trim" LED is lit. I consult the manual for the unit and it states under the troubleshooting section:
"The Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) Trim LED comes on, indicating the unit is compensating for a high voltage level."
What could this mean and what's wrong?

My first guess is that you had a voltage spike.

Could possibly be, but the warning light is still on. If it were a spike wouldn't the light be on for a short period of time?

Is there a reset button?

Is there a reset button?
No.
It's not like some power strips that have a reset button on the side.

it means its gonna blow!!! DUCK! *ducks*
Kidding, APC brand? From my experience with any APC brand unit any warning light 80% of the time leads back to the backup battery within the unit. Check the voltage on the battery.

Checked the battery. It seems to be normal, 13.5V, and still holds a charge.

Git rid of it and listen in oblivious happiness.

I don't think so...
Besides, I like power conditioning/surge protection for all my gear.

Have you checked the voltage coming out of the wall?

Have you checked the voltage coming out of the wall?
131V, with nothing plugged in to that circuit...
127-129V, with the projector and HT plugged in.

Is this a problem? Should I call the utility company?
