Anyone getting this? Some are calling it the successor to Oblivion. From the screen shots it looks like that could be true. I'll believe it when I see it, but regardless I'll be picking this one up. Released today.

Looks like a mix between KOTOR and LOTR....

I havent played it yet, but i do own it. (i am making myself finish bioshock first)... but my roomate played it and he described it was oblivion meets diablo (if diablo were 3rd person instead of that 3/4 top down thing). seems like a cool game thus far. got good reviews abroad... cant wait to play..

I've played just a little yesterday. (I too am waiting until I finish Bioshock). Its pretty cool. Plays a lot like a mix of Oblivion and Sacred (for those of you lucky enough to have played the awesomeness that is Sacred). I could see Diablo's influence as well I suppose. Looks to be a winner, except the cheesy voice acting is killing me. I imagine there are those that will really like it, but its driving me crazy.

Yeah, i'd agree with the Sacred comparison, probably more appropriate that diablo specifically
"Lets have a look..."

Been playing it quite a bit lately. Not sure if I would consider it a Oblivion killer, but it certainly is a worthy competitor.
One thing about 2W is I find myself using magic a fair amount. I never use magic, so the fact that the game has been using a whole different set of skills is nice.
I am pretty much doing every side quest I come across. I'm thinking that that is not going to help me as I progress through the story.
All and all, its very fun. I find that time just flies by when I play. Not sure if thats a good thing. The teleports are distributed at just the right amount. You never feel like you are walking for too long.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I almost didn't purchase it due to the VERY bad reviews it has received on the XBox 360, but I think it's a fantastic game. There's a few bugs, and the framerate isn't as consistant as most people are used to, but the game itself is very fun.
I personally like it better than Oblivion because of the better 3rd person implementation (I like 3rd person RPG's) and the fact that monsters don't level with the character. These are just personal preferences and there's certainly a lot of people out there that think otherwise. Making comparisons to Oblivion seem to rub a lot of people the wrong way -- it's like they take it personally.
I haven't played multiplayer yet, and I hear the game suffers from a lot of lag. But we'll see.

I'd agree with you tcrossma. I find myself liking two worlds a lot better than oblivion (and i really loved oblivion) based almost entirely on the lack of level'd dungeon's and mobs. It never made sense to me to have fight random bandits on the road that had super high end gear just because i was fairly high level.
I'm intrigued by the magic system, i'm basically just using Air magic to heal my fighter, but i want to make a mage and focus on magic and see how effective he is. These seems to be lots of options that would probably be pretty fun.
My room-mate played the multiplayer and wants impressed at all. Very laggy and you can only play a predetermined section of the map. So you have to pick and choose where you'll run around and fight, just kinda weird.

Dang. Just call me grandpa. I'm still playing Oblivion. Yes, it's kinda infuriating when the crab levels up with you.
Anybody playing 2W with a 7800GT? Just curious if I need to upgrade my vid. Currently, Obliv makes my card cry uncle unless I play it on medium.

I rented it one weekend. It seems to be a more classic computer RPG than Oblivion. It was fun but buggy. It locked up on me four times.

yeah, it didnt seem to buggy when i played through as a fighter type guy. But when i tried to re-play the game solely as a mage it locked up every 15min, fought my way to lvl 10, but could go any further... really dissappointing. I really liked this game and could have seen myself playing this game through a couple times, but not if its going to lock up every 15min =(

Just when I had myself convinced I didn't need this, you guys make me spend more money. It only had 4.1/10 rating on gamefly with over 7500 reviews, but it is for sale used for $9.99, and I also get an extra 10% off used game. :)

IMO, its well worth the $10.
I let a coworker borrow my copy, and I am missing the game. I'm going to ask for it back soon.

So, I downloaded the patch, didn't notice much of any changes if at all. Framerate still sucks. I guess most of the problems were with Live and multiplayer, which I still have yet to try.
