I was browsing some records on ebay and saw this; thought it was pretty cool, and who knows what made me place a bid.....I guess it was my "lucky" day, because I won it. What was I thinking????

Anyway, really have no place to put it, and even though it looks cool and it's supposed to work, my wife would not let it in the house.

So I thought someone here has been waiting for one of these to show up for years???

Only $66. To be picked up in Lancaster, OH.

That is too cool! She won't let you bring it in? Did you play it for her, they have a really seductive sound.

Have not picked it up; still at the seller's....

A recent TT addition is more than enough for her ;)

Oh man, have you ever heard one of these? Awesome! Unfortunatly too far away for me. If I didn't already have an RCA victor I would consider it.

naaah...It won't fit in my 10x13 room, which is the only place I would be allowed to put it in.

As I said, I don't know what I was thinking when I placed the bid.

Come on guys, this is right in Columbus; I know there are several members here that live there.

Be a man, go GET IT already.

It will clean up nice and make a great addition to ANY room in your house. Put it the garage with a tarp over it if need be, just GO GET IT.

I've got an old mono console on MY side of the bed for MY nightstand. Nice Telefunken unit in the entry hallway. GO GET IT.

I guess I'll talk with the seller today; just thought that maybe there could be interest here.

Russ, thanks for the inspiration, but no thanks ;)

Get it and bring it to Polkfest. It will be gone in a minute.

You could always pick it up, play with it then re-sell. I would pretty much bet you would make a hefty profit. Most go for around $300 when bought locally. (ad in a paper/super market billboard ad...)

I've been thinking about that; it's a 4 hours ride both ways though.....I'll probably let them here for a week or so to see if some polkie is interested.

I'll just bet that if you played it for your wife she would never let it leave the house. They have a certain sound to them that puts you in a different place.

you definitely don't know my wife.......she can't tell the difference between a radio clock and a $100,000 high end system......or at least she pretends she doesn't ;)

Yea, but these don't sound like either. They have their own sound. The first time I heard one was in an antique store. I stood there and listened in amazement. By the time the record was over there were about 10 people standing around asking them to play it some more. Very cool!
