This is one of my biggest pet peeves with integrated amps now. So many dont have a phono stage and I dont want this extra phono amp adding more bulk to my system:confused:

Two things. One, to save money, two, there are a lot of pretty good reasonably priced phono stages out there today. Far more than only a few years ago. Why make a digital guy pay for a phono stage, and why provide one for a guy who will probably buy an outboard unit anyway.

That is today's market.

Haven't you heard? Vinyl is dead. Nobody listens to records anymore, so why waste chassis space with a phono stage? CD's and mp3's are so much better than vinyl for their clean sound.

I'm just glad I've got a couple of Carver C1 preamps that have excellent phono stages. It's nice having seperate inputs for MM or MC cartridges.

I'm thinking that they disappeared shortly after the "8-Track" selector switch.
