I have 5 sets of SDAs from SRS to 1.2TL to whatever. All the SDAs work perfectly to the best of my knowledge and ears. I am the original ower of two sets. I'm interested in trading a set of POLKs for Carver Amazing speakers in good working condition. We can use cash to make the deal fair on either end. I don't want a project speaker however. I'm also not interested in big travel or shipping speakers. Let's say within 100 miles. I live in MA at 01827 and can travel to Boston.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

Peter

Too bad you are 1000 miles away because I know where a pair of Carver Amazing's are and the ribbons have just been recently replaced. Black piano finish in excellent condition btw. They are asking 2,000 for the pair. I have been looking to buy a pair of SDA SRS 1.2 TL's but I can never find anything close to st. louis, mo. Now if only st louis was within 100 miles of MA..................... good luck in your search. mike

$2000.00!?! That's far more than the going rate.

Well it is excessive and it has taken me years to collect them.

I have three sets in my HT but I only use one sds on it's side for the center channel. I also have two two channel rooms.

I don't see anything excessive.

that is so Zen like seeing all those SDA's.

how many tweeters would you have to buy if you replaced all those SL2000's with the RD0's?

What is the going rate for a pair of Carver Amazings?

Going rate for Amazing Platinums (depending on which edition it is- there were 4) is from $800 in poor to average condition (for the series 1 with 2 30" ribbons) to $1200-1800 for a Mark IV in gloss black in excellent condition. It was also available in an oak finish (series 2-4) which was about $200 less IIRC.

And then there was the Silver Amazings which cost a bit less as well...

I've owned both (and the AL-IIIs and AL-III+ for that matter). All are excellent speakers with the Mark IV Platinums competing with anything out there.

I can tell you the story of the Carvers if you like ?
BTW, the man who repairs them is down in Cape Coral, FL and NO I do not know him. :)
I am up in Tampa, an hours fast drive away.

Yes, they are good speakers!

I would be happy to consider to trade a set of SDAs for Carvers but there appear to be none in my area. The thought of shipping both sets of speakers is nuts. I'm patient.
