I bought a AMR50 last week, and it worked pretty well for a whole week. Then, today, when I was watching some DVD, there suddenly was no sound. Several minutes later, I heard a little sound from the adapter, and smelt some burned oder. Now I can tell that the satellites are fine, but the adapter and the subwoofer could not work. What can I do? I don't want to send it to some specialist. Can I repair it by myself?

Contact polk customer service. You might be able to repair it yourself, or they may just send you replacement parts.

Whatever they do, they will take good care of you and your new system. Welcome to the forum!

Hello,
Thanks for participating in the Polk Forum. The best thing to do is to send the 12 Volt transformer and the sub-woofer to Polk Audio, 2550 Britannia Blvd., Suite D, San Diego, CA. 92154. Please include a short note giving us your name and address and a copy of your sales receipt. The service department will quickly send a replacement for whatever is necessary.
Regards, Ken Swauger

Thank you very much, both of you. I think that the mailing fee will exceed what I paid for the AMR50, so it does not worth doing. I will try to repair it by myself. The problem is just that I have no right screwdriver for the 12 volt transformer. Does somebody know that from where I can buy the right screwdriver?
Thanks a lot.
