All,
I have just purchased two sets of POLK MMC6500 component speakers. One set for the front of my car and one set for the back. I would like opinions on a good AMP to use to run these speakers. I was going to go all POLK, but the availability of used POLK amps is low, even on EBAY. I know next to nothing about who makes the best amps and why. I have an old school rockford punch 200 which is bridged and powering a Rockford 10" sub. I've always been happy with that setup; I like a rounded out system, I'm not a bass freak. Don't know if I should go with a 4 channel rockford for my polk components or possibly something from Infinity?? Help would be appreciated!

Any amp from a solid company would be fine....what is your budget?

Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, MTX, Kicker are the mainstream companies that make very solid amps. Id have no problem using any of them. Since theyre mainstream you shouldnt have too much of a problem finding them used.

MTX TE1004 matches up perfectly with 2 sets of 6.5 components

ZED AUDIO makes great sounding amplifiers at a great price. Take a look at their web site and see what Car Audio and Electronics had to say about their product.

Zed Audio makes some very nice amplifiers.....I was looking at the Draconia and also the Deuce models, but did not go with them due to their size. The audisons I am running now are pretty small.

I have to disagree with you. I speak to Stephen on a weekly basis, and they are still producing amplifiers. But at the moment they are out of the Draconia, and cannot do another build run until they take care of some large OEM contract work. ZED makes very little money off their own amplifiers, they are zapco/audison/helix quality (especially with the Burr Brown chips) for much less money. Not to mentioned they are assembled right here in the US. You can only get ZED from SoundSolutionsAudio or direct from ZED.
