AV reciever

Any body have an AV reciever for sale out there. My son is away at school and he had my onkyo but he's having trouble with the right front channel. It works on the test but no sound when playing music or movies. He has a tight budget as most college kids do but I told him I would do some searching.

This was probably thought of, but wasn't mentioned: is he losing sound from the same component (dvd player, etc.)? Did he try swapping components?

I talked him through several simple tests:
1. We flipped the speaker wires and the channel remained out so both speakers are working on the left channel.

2. The reciever has a test button and all channels are testing ok.

3. The reciever has a subroom channel and he tried that with the RF AND LF
and right channel is still out.

I gotta believe that the right channel on the reciever is blown. Thanks for taking the time to help.

PS. we bought a used piece from audiogon.
