I just got my first some what real 2 channel rig together today and can't stop grinning.:D I went from a yamaha htr-5560 receiver with those little rca cables that come with dvd players and little monster cable speaker wire. To a B&K ST-140 amplifier and a B&K avp3090 preamp. I also ordered 20ft of speaker wire and all stereo interconnects and digital cables from blue jeans cables. All of this is sent to my trusty Polk RT800's. I was amazed to say the least! I now understand sound stage. The first cd I played was dire straits brother in arms SACD. I could not believe it. It filled my room with sound I never heard. I can't stop listening to cds. I never liked SACD untill now, they always sounded like crap on my other system. Just wanted to say thanks to the forum.;) I think I am truly addicted and can't wait to buy more audio equiptment.:D

HTrookie, now, do you fully understand why I sold the 3.1TL's after owning them for 15 years? The 3.1TL's had a fifteen year "I'M DONE" factor. Pretty good for a company that believes in licking tweeters.

27435Somebody ask for some pics so here they are. Please note I have not orginizied my wires, I plan to do so tonight. Also note that so far I only have a 1000.00 invested in rig. That includes everthing you see except TV and entertainment center. A new tv is the next step if you can't tell.

Nice pictures. Though the way you have all your CD's neatly placed there is not helping for imaging and soundstaging; throw some on the floor, break a couple of cases. That will get you a great improvement.

What's the tv for? Save your money for new CDs, or a turntable, or a new digital source, or all three. kn

You do not need no stinkin tv for your 2 channel rig, hell its about listening not watching.
SACD---Stevie Ray Vaughn Cant stand the weather and texas flood
Dire Straits--Brother in Arms
Pink Floyd--I like all of them
Elton John--Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Tumbleweed
Heart--Live in Seattle
Alison Krause--Anything you can find
Aimee Mann--Lost in Space and Bachelor #2
Santana--Abraxas
There are bunches I like but those are a start, I am sure the other members will catch a bunch I missed.
Oh, and who cares about seeing wire hooked to electronics, just keep the power cords seperate from the other stuff if you can. I put a big mirror behind my rack so I can see my wires, yea, I am pretty vain about the Woodshed Rig.

These recently released redbook CDs will blow your mind:
****Bill Frisell, Matt Chamberlain, Tucker Martine and Lee Townsend – Floratone, guitar player and a percussionist meet two funky ass producers
****Charlie Hunter Trio – Mistico, is it jazz? is it funk? is it rock? I don't know. Is it super well produced? You bet. kn
