I don't know about mixing a HSU tube with an SVS driver. Usually, the enclosure and vents need to match the sub T/S parameters. Sounds like a lot anyway. I think they only sold for $500 new. You'd still need an amp, right?

I'd see what else is available.

Just like any other bastardized speaker, stear clear unless you've actually heard it.

Thanks guys, I passed on it. It was not powered. He told me he was running it on a 50w High current receiver. For the extra $$ I told him I could get a new SVS.

SVS, HSU, or Outlaw. You can't beat any of them for the price. I've had my SVS PC+ for about 2.5 years now and still luv'n it.

When I told him I was no intersted he said, it's probably good cause this way you won't know what you're missing. This coming from a guy who was running it on a 50wpc receiver...oh yeah it was high current....what a dumb A$$

Why in the world would you care what the wattage is on the receiver? The subwoofer has its own built-in 250W amplifier.

Is this the one?

Actually, the E-bay add you linked to states it does need an external amp. As does the link to the Stereo Times article. In the Stereo Times article, the sub alone is $499, with a package price for the amp and sub of $849.

Good move Willow. Sounds like someone you do not want to business with. Buy the SVS. There was a SVS on CAM a week ago (Toronto I think) but it is gone now.
