Good, I'm glad you liked it. His recordings are excellent sounding and musically interesting, especially the Ry Cooder. I was surprised to read of the break with Tim de Paravicini. Tim's tape recorder mods are famous. It's amazing to have both the Studer C37 and Ampex MR70 to use, most people don't even see one of them, in a lifetime, let alone have one of each to use. There's a cool video on "You Tube" about the C37. I like knowing something about what motivates the recording engineer. This guy is worried that the musician is away from his friends and family and eating strange food. Amazing way to approach folk art.

Thanks for the tip on the recording. I would imagine playing one of his recordings using the M/S microphone technique would sound good on SDA speakers. The sum and difference approach to the mics would produce a very "you-are-there" soundstage.

Great read Ken thanks. Thanks Troy for the tip. I have to say I was little bummed when I went to his website and only found CDs . . . sigh. It's the same with Mapleshade, great sounding recordings but no vinyl.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

There is great music on both formats. Don't be a slave to a particular format.

Love the music, not the medium.

HA ha ha Jess!

But, True, very true Troy. The problem is getting the different front ends on the same quality level.

However I really would love to hear some of the great Mapleshade recordings I have on vinyl just for shits and giggles.

Hello,
Kavi stopped producing his music on LP several years ago, feeling he would only reach audiophiles if he continued. A friend of mine, actually the guy who got me my job at Polk, has communicated with Kavi for several years about music and recordings and sent me the link. You can find Water Lily LPs on ebay every once and a while, but you have to have patience. Also Proprius and Pierre Verany records show up, the Timegate recordings are the hardest to find. Never been able to even bid on one, let alone win one.

Holy smokes that's some review! Between Troys endorsement and the review, now I gotta get it.
