i know we all like naked pics and these ones are really dirty. ;)
dirty as in, this amp needs a DEEP cleaning. That cleaning is beyond my level of experience. Years of build up of grease, dust, grime, dirt and it shows. check out the pics.

From the looks of it I assume it has awesome dynamic range.

Canned air from a photo or coputer store can work wonders. Get the easy stuff at least.

Piece of cake. Bucket of warm water, 1/2 cup Lestoil, stiff bristle (natural bristles only) brush and some medium-fine steel wool for those particularly tough stains. An alternative approach is a pressure washer if you are lazy. Be sure to air dry at least 30 minutes before you turn it back on however.

Dan, you're right it does have awesome dynamic range.. that was the first thing I noticed when I fired it up. It's powering the SDA 2B's with the RD0 tweeters.. they have never sounded so good and full. Nice detailed yet smooth highs.. mids are the same. Bass is either good or bloated slightly. I'm not used to having this much bass from the SDA's ;)
It is without a doubt the best sounding amp I have ever had in my house. I can only turn the volume knob up about 1/4 of the way up and it's belting out some sweet tunes. Tonight i'll hook up the turntable and see if magic happens again. :) It must have a much better pre amp section then my old Kenwood Basic 2 one did. Soundstage is better as well. It has a button called "straight" which is known by today's more modern pre amps as "bypass". You can probably figure out what that means? Bypasses the bass and treble knobs.
I went thru a whole can of air in a can plus I used the vacuum to clean it out.. this is the result.. it's VERY dirty.. I scrubbed off some gunk from one of the transformers. I debated even posting pictures, it looks so nasty with how dirty it is. If I had owned this for the past 20+ years, it would NEVER have gotten to this stage of dirt build up.
Heat. this baby can put out some serious heat, let me tell you. Good thing the entire top is all slotted to help the heat escape into the air. No way would it be possible for it to have another component place on top of it.. I know that's not a good idea with amps anyway.. but this one would fry it in a couple hours usage.
I'm trying to find a users manual somewhere online.. but so far haven't had any luck.
Yes, I often flip older stereo gear online.. but this is one piece that won't be leaving the house. :D
