That's roughly 4% of the world's population. I may have to call BS on that number.
Other than that... is it fun?:D

maybe they shipped that many units to stores.. and had they sold them all. it would total that much.. 190M for first day sales seems very high to me too. but maybe anything is possible these days.

Its very realistic considering 1.7M preorders. Add that to all the people that walked into Wal-Mart, Target, etc.

That's dollars, and $170,000,000 is the number, at least for the United States alone.

I believe its $190,000,000. So if you devide it by $60 = 3,166,666.66666666 People

Its a conspiracy.
Its like air. There are just somethings you have to have, no matter what the cost.
My kids dont complain about being hungry when playing H3. So its a win win situation.

They compared H3 to H2 in terms of money, when H2 was about $20 cheaper.

And from what I understand (read), that makes Halo 3 the most successful entertainment product launch during the first 24 hours. This includes other games, movies, albums, yadda yadda. I could be wrong.

There may be 3 million players out there but I refuse to believe they're all operational. Most folks must have bought their copy in anticipation of receiving their unit back from the repair shop sometime this year.

Yeah, but finishing the single player isn't the real draw of Halo 3. The multiplayer is what will keep people coming back to it for years, just as it did with Halo 2. They made so much customizable that you could literally have millions of different game types. Last night, I made a high-speed no-armor variant of Slayer that was a freakin' blast, and then we joked around and did gravity hammer jousting on vehicles.
Also, even if you burn through the single player, you can replay the game on its hardest mode cooperatively with 3 other friends... and it scores you, so it's a race to get more kills than your friends. Definitely worth a purchase.

Burger Time rocked! Not only was it entertaining, but it taught Jason a valuable professional working skill he is still using today :D j/k
Does anyone remember the name of the video game, where you had to mow your grass and borrow your neighbors mower, while a burgler tried to steal it from you while mowing? Your only ally was your dog that scared him away, but there was a limited Dog Loyalty Meter. Good times.

There is no chance in hell you can finish that game in 7 hours on Heroic by yourself...
The influx of enemies in EVERY SINGLE battle and the amount of SNIPERS in some of those levels is mind blowing -
It took on average about 50 minutes per level with my friend, one hanging back, one going in and killing all you can, die, respawn, other go in, etc etc
Tough tough game - fo sho

A slight update: First week's sales for Halo 3 were in the $300,000,000 range. That's a lot of money.
