Boy is this cd bright. It's making my ears bleed. Other than that typical Etheridge drama but ok.

Had a chance to listen to this some more.
It sounds better (a lot) with the new amp and there are a couple of really nice songs. The stand out is 'Maps of the Stars' so far.
Melissa is always better when she gets out of her own way but there is precious little of that going on here. She comes off as very self absorbed and somewhere in the journey of finding her self I believe that Miss Etheridge has made the assumption that we are all so very fascinated to hear her sing about it. All of it. Ad nauseum.
There are a couple of anthems which I am sure will accompany some moving commercials for your favorite television shows or movie previews which are a little forced and formulaic but hey..the formula works for a reason.
All in all it's a lot of Melissa. About Melissa and for Melissa. Yawn.
