I recently bought a kicker KX 700.1 amp for my Polk DBs. I was wanting to use my Polk Momo 300.2 amp for my car speakers. The car speakers are:

Kicker 6 1/2" Coaxial Speakers - Front speakers
65 RMS-130 Peak

Kicker 6" x 9" 3-Way Speakers - Rear Speakers
90 RMS-180 Peak

Would this be okay, or should I go get a 4 channel amp? Amp I was looking at was a Kicker zx350.4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I went and bought a gel battery. Would a cap still be needed?

No need for a cap.

As far as running all your speakers from the 300.2, it is possible, but not really a good thing to do. You will kill your front stage if you have the rear speakers playing at the same level as the front speakers. I would go the four channel way, this way you could run the rears at alot lower level than the front speakers.

@ about 1000 rms, you should have roughly a 1 farad cap on the primary power line to your amplifiers. There is no debating me. Have a splendid day.


PS... why did you get a Gel-cell battery? (if you mean a Yellow Top, its an Absorbant Glass Mat, not a Gel battery, even though many, including myself, used to think it was a Gel) Even so... why'd you get a Yellow Top? Wanna play it with the key off --- get a Hybrid Deep Cycle marine battery, and live large.

nope, I don't. just a less expensive Yellow Top is all they are. now if I was looking for a Yellow Top and saw a Kinetic, then I'd love it... same performance, less cost = cool. but neither a YT or a Kinetic is going to give you guys what you're after... but I don't run the world, so I keep quiet.

Yeah, I see a ton of them in the lanes. You even see a bunch of them in SQ systems as well.
