Voyager was a very good spinoff series Zsolt. It got really good when Jeri Ryan came onboard in season 4. The writing for many of the episodes was just fantastic. i own ToS, TNG, Voyager and all the motion pictures on DVD.
I plan on getting Deep Space 9 and Enterprise sooner or later.
The legend lives! Another vote for trekkies!

TNG too was the one I watched on the Tele but after the shock that it was over, no more new episodes, I had to try another one. I tried to get into DS9 but couldnt ... too much talking, politics, no adventures really (I did get interested once Worf got onto the show) ....
Just checked out your pics of your system. You havent updated your system pics since Feb 2005 :D

Yes, Jeri Ryan PEAKED my interest as well .... Schwing!! ... a nice replacement for my teenage fantasies of Counselor Troi :D I had seasons 1-3 of Voyager (before I got robbed 3 years ago) and found that many of the story lines were great however some were a bit of a rip off of some TNG shows though. I suppose you can only encounter so many space anomolies before a trekkie says "Im feeling deja vu" I dont think I seen many episodes of Voyager from season 5-7 so I am looking forward to finding some gems on DVD eventually.

I love & grew up with TOS. I had a serious case of deja vu while watching TNG rip off some of TOS storylines. I realized during TNG that I had pretty much grown up from finding ST terrific. I couldn't get into DS9, & I watched Voy since they finally put a woman in the captains chair.
I would have tuned out, but putting Jeri Ryan in gave the series a terrific boost (to me) since Kate Mulgrew finally had another acting partner who could hold her own opposite her. Robert Beltran can't act his way out of a paper bag!
Once Voyager ended so did my ST watching.
But ST RULES!

Agreed. The Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas is too cool. We go to Vegas every year and I always make it a point to visit. The 40th Anniversary Convention was held there in August. I wish I could've gone. Most of the major players were there. In any case, I recommend any Trekkie to check it out when in Vegas. Even if your not into Star Trek I'd highly doubt it would disappoint anybody.

what no love for DS9 ???
Has anyone ever watched Star Trek in French? Now that's a lot better than hot ice picks anywhere I can think of! James T. and Mr. Spock exchanging views in the language of Monet and Colbert, that really is something! Actually, maybe German and/or Japanese would have its charm too, but I have never done that myself yet ...
P.S. not a lot o' love for DS9 from me either, I regret to say.

Or purple ... and don't forget the blotchiness of the face brought on by salt starvation (in the case of wiggly wobbly monsters with tentacles that steal human forms). Surely James T. never messed with Lt. Uhura! Unthinkable!Fact:
In the episode Plato's Step Children ToS William Shatner and Nichelle Nichols performed the first inter-racial kiss on network television. Remarkable because during this era in the mid 60's racial tensions were very high and Star Trek was breaking down barriers. It's groovy how far we've come.

I loved it since it was the first show that I saw that had a black woman in a important job. (in the military no less, when women at that time weren't even allowed to do so in the USA!) She wasn't cleaning someone else's house.

Star Trek sucks.
What the hell is up with the holodeck? Every time they can't think of an episode plot, they stick characters in the holodeck and it goes wacky and turns real. riveting. After one time why the hell would you ever go back in? And why is no one ever using it for it's only REAL purpose, which if you are stuck on a crappy spaceship forever, would be all about sex. In fact even if you weren't stuck on a crappy spaceship it would be used 99.993% (pecentages computed in the highly scientific star trek-like way) of the time for sex.
Phaser is also a wussy name for a gun. Borgs were one of the worst villains ever.

Did you all see the auction? WOW what an auction.
I grew up on TNG like most grew up on TOS. Picard, Will, DATA, Worf, Troy and Crusher, what a cast.
I record them still on G4 and Spike TV. Its funny to compare the early TNG to the later ones. The early ones (star date 4100 - 4400) were still kinda corney like TOS (...dont shoot me). Seems the later ones ( star date 4500 and later) were alittle more serious.
But I love them all.
My wife just laughs and says "how many times are we going to watch the same episodes over and over again, we've seen this one a million times"

Well, I wasn't surprised to have my worst fears confirmed, unfortunately. I don't know the episodes well enough to know who did or didn't get boinked by James T. during one of those missions where he got taken over by some nasty alien being using mind control.

LOL! He is an actor, he is just not your run of the mill pretty boys models that try to act these days.
All of the Captains for the shows are THEATER trained actors. The producers deliberately look to get them from the theater. I believe they want them to have that & use the stage presense that is required to belt out lines in a play in a theater house.
It's that kind of training that has made sure they all had a believebility factor.

Star Trek sucks.
My Son and I continue to argue about the Borg being villains.
He says they are villains, I say they are not villains in the classic sense.
They ONLY wish to assimilate species, to add them to the collective.
Once you are assimilated, your IQ just went up by a factor of 1 million.
You get all the wisdom and experience of zillions of civilizations added instantly.
Yes, it is true ya gotta serve the collective, but you serve others anyway.
If you go to work for a pay check, all you get at the end of forty hours is a paycheck, maybe a gold watch when you retire.
