Monitor series

I have an opportunity to purchase a Monitor 40 for a reasonable price. The problem is that there is only one speaker. I hope I can possibly purchase another single Monitor 40 in the future. I intend to use this as my bedroom set-up. My question is: If I proceed with this idea, will I have a problem with a speaker not matched with one that I hope to find later on ?

I would not do it. Most speakers are sold in pairs. Unless you plan on using the M40 as a center channel.
