Yup, Georgy is at it again. Its time to grind the last remaining scraps of my childhood's memories, and cash in (http://www.4029tv.com/entertainment/4412547/detail.html) on what little is left from the original star wars heritage.

{ heritage ... ? brand name is more like it }

Oh come on, if you owned the rights to a cash cow like Star Wars, you telling me you wouldn't milk that thing for all it's worth? I would whore it out to the highest bidder until there were no bidder's left :)

Just don't watch the new stuff if you want to keep your memories intact, it's not hard to ignore.

Bobman is right...just because fans think they own it...it's still HIS intellectual property to do with as he chooses.

No doubt, mine is not a realistic rant, but an emotional one (pardon my pathos, of course ;) ).
Though I do remember certain examples of artists who had the integrity to retire modern culture symbols, before cynicism was all that's left from them.
'Seinfeld' is one example which comes to mind. He could have easily shoot several more 5-mil-an-episode seasons. but he did not, he new the last season started to stink. I respect that.

Not that the entire cast isn't making a few royalty bucks :rolleyes: sitting on their collective asses doing nothing while the show is in syndication. I respect that as well.

More power to him. I think it's funny fans telling him what he is or isn't ruining. If it wasn't for him Star Wars wouldn't have existed at all. The new stuff may be crap, but nobody forced anyone to watch it.

What can one say about a post that has only 74 words in it, and three of them are "emotional", "pathos", and "cynicism"?

Actually, That I envy rather then respect .. and you know what ? something tells me Mr Lucas has no problem making his ends meat. I bet he's even eligible for some senior citizens discounts.

Check the date, from 2005. Maybe the bidding war is still being waged for the rights? lol:D

I wouldn't mind seeing this happen, if done right. The Clone Wars cartoons were enjoyable, and filled in some storyline between Ep. II & III.
