Looks good from this way, although it looks like you have a few waves in your screen. Maybe its just the pic. Have you given any thought to moving the Outlaws to the bottom of the rack and some of your components up top. Reason I mention that is because you can stack them 3 high and they will still run cool. That way it should take away some of the clutter from around the center speaker if that makes sense. Other than that, its looks good, even as is it looks great. Just minor details and a little cable management.

Its all still under construction. Technically the Onkyo 805 should be in the rack now but its to big and there’s not enough space clearance for it to say cool. You cant see it in the pictures but I have a small fan on the 2nd shelf that points down at the Onkyo. So I’m trying to find a good cooling solution (note, I have already fried one 805 due to heat). The 2 stands would be moved apart another foot and the center would go on a stand to lower it a bit. It’s to high right now.

I like the ability to move the amps around. For example, I’m still looking for a much higher powered 2 channel amp for 2.1 music. In that case, I would move 2 monblocks to my "under construction" setup that I have going upstairs with my 60" Sony SXRD TV (where most the stuff was before). If I swap more out, a few can go to my system in our bedroom or swap out my Onkyo 2 x 100 watt with 2 of the monoblocks.

My pics are taken at an angle to hide the cable cluster back there. I still need to get velcro wraps and spend some time back there making it purdy

I read your whole thread over at AVS, seeing it from start to finish. I give you much props for the outstanding work you've done. Very impressive. I wont be doing any of this on my own since it will be a new home. Should be easier, at least Im hoping. Be proud of your work though, it does look good.

On another note the 200 wpc to your fronts is good enough, the bigger amp will give you a tad more headroom though. Hows that outlaw sub sound? Surprise you didnt go with the larger SVS in that room.

That Outlaw rocks the place. My neighbor has the same unit and he rattles dishes in my house when he cranks it (I hope I don’t in his with all my sound proofing). I am looking for a second sub to replace my 10+ year old Energy, in fact after 10 years of solid use, I think I might have blown it watching transformers the other night (last night it was sounding hammered like it was topping out when it shouldn’t have… making wobble noises at hard bass). This is a statement to the bass in that movie but I also had the Onkyo set at strait up 0 on the knob  ) I was planning a second outlaw. I’m not sure if I really want to go any louder, I was dinking around with the energy last night and I swear I almost blew my ear drum at one point (I didn’t think it was on that loud at the time at 15 on the Onkyo)... it was bad enough that it made me dizzy (which is a new experience to me). I figured I would have one Outlaw set to deep bass (17) and the other set to the puncher setting (23 I think). But I don’t think the room could do with one of them monster 15" subs backed by 1000+ watts :)

In any case, I would never turn it up like that with the kids down there watching a movie.

Ah note, I also have the Rti12's xover set to 40, the fxi's at 60 and the RT12 and csi5 set to 50 so I was getting some good bass out of them at the time.

To prevent blowing your subs you should make sure youre calibrated, and if youre going with another additional sub, I highly recommend you look into the velodyne SMS-1

Ya, I still think I need some serious calibration still. I have run the Onkyo 805 audyssey auto config a few times and altered the settings a bit. For example, the auto config dropped the volume of the sub preout 20db lol. I changed that and just lowered the volumes on the sub (which are still only at 4 of 10 on the Outlaw and 3 of 10 on the Energy).

I was just looking at that Velodyne a few days ago, Im gong to look out for a used on cheap :)
