balanced or unbalanced

I'm wondering if there is an advantage to hooking up balanced connections from pre/pro to amp over using the un-balanced RCA connections. Thanks.

mainly noise rejection. If you have a problem with noise with rca's, or have a really long run use the balanced conections

Didn't mean to be so flippant. If you scroll to the bottom of your screen (similar threads) while in this thread there are about 5 threads which might be what you ae looking for.
