Who would actually complain that a local post office put up pictures of local soldiers as a show of support?

The obvious and not at all surprising answer is "someone in California".

I hope you folks south of the border do not give into the 'Bleeding Hearts" of the world that live in your country yet refuse to become citizens. It happens WAY TOO MUCH in Canada. I say To Hell With Them. Leave them up. Just plain BS IMO.

Yet another reason for the Soviet Socialist Repbulic of Kalifornia to just break off and sink into the ocean (present company excepted of course). Should be no suprise coming from the state that wouldnt allow fire departments to fly the American flag after 9/11. Apparantly Old Glory would be too offensive to "non-Americans".
I dont understand why we have to cow tow to the tiny few people that are offended. If 1000 people are good with something and 1 person gets offended, why cant we just tell that 1 person to F off?!
We had a similar thing in Chattanooga. We have an anual ceremony on the riverfront where we light up a nativity scene for Christmas. Well a handful of people complained and so naturally they cancelled the whole thing. Luckily the adjoining plot of land was privately owned and they let will let the city use it for the ceremony.
I am going to make up a big ole sign to take down there that reads:
For those of you offended by this nativity scene, Johnny Cash would like to say---

I think everyone west of the Mississippi should face California: everyone east of the Mississippi face Washington, DC : and at the same time give them the "Flying Fickled Finger of Fate Award."

That's sad. I just can't say what I truly feel about those who don't respect others, and tink only of themselves.

Well, lets just say that being the extremely politicaly incorrect individual that I usually am by nature...and would be the first one to stand up and reflect that finger right at anybody not from California.....in this instance I just have to shake and lower my head.
Like I usually have to do with the F***ed up gun laws here in the state as well.

I personally feel the term, "politically correct" is a clever way of curving Freedom of Speech. The Constitution nowhere guarantees an individuals right to not be offended.

The problem is, it also says that you may speak freely until you interfere with the rights of others.....That is such an open statement from a legal point of view, that people (not always the smart kind) like to create "rights" on the spot. My point of view is who gives a shit really? If you are that offended by it, don't listen/watch/look at it. Just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean it is offensive or wrong....Hell, I might be wrong...I think that there is a huge pussificion of society happening more and more every day, and people are just going along with it. "I'm offended"....I don't give a damn, go somewhere else then. We choose to support the troops, you choose to be a whiny bastard...So go be a whiny bastard somewhere else, away from the rest of us.

"Curving" is putting it very mildly! How about censuring! Now you can be arrested for saying certain words!!! Hate crimes bill I believe it's called. I believe that if a person does vandalism or beats someone they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law but not for saying a friggin word or calling someone a name. Backasswards country we are living in. It's funny, I'm Italian, there are all kinds of ethnic slurs for Italians. . . is anyone going to be put in jail charged with a hate crime if I am called a WOP? Nope. . . and I wouldn't want them to be . . . I can laugh it off. This is a very selective set of laws which lead to even more resentment. I can't believe the people who push for these kinds of laws don't see they are just fueling the resentment that they are trying to omit.
And please don't anyone come up with the argument that Italians weren't held down or biased against or argue that others were to a greater degree. My parents and grandparents were. We just learned how to overcome it and let that bullshit roll off our backs.
Sorry for the derail.

In California you are not allowed to hate anyone, it's against the law--yall didn't know that? Wait, I take that back, you can hate gun owners, cigarette smokers, and people with no gym membership--that's acceptable, in fact it's encouraged.

Actually I live here in Calif and actually feel the same about most of the people that live here . I'll just add close relatives and friends to your 2 exceptions....most of the rest are tools.
And in my first post....I said I was politically INcorrect..... :)

I'll tell you what, I hate smoking with a passion...but when they passed the law here that you couldnt smoke in a damn BAR....even I thought that was ridiculous.
The laws may suck....a lot of the people suck....but the actual state is one of if not the best there is....while a lot of you are cursing shoveling snow... ducking hurricanes...dodging tornados..etc I'll be out at my favorite outdoor range shooting an obscene amount of ammo in perfect weather......riding my quad....shooting some hoops ...and on occasion riding out a little ol earthquake :)
Oh and steve, its just fine here to hate and be politically INcorrect...none of the little whimpering sniviling politically correct sheep that you guys hear complaining here in Calif are ever going to even look my way , much less tell me when I am being politically INcorrect :D
They only grow a set when you guys see them on TV......
