eq hookup

what is the tyipical way to hook up a eq to a reciever?? eq has a set of line in/outs and tape in.outs. i know the tape in/outs replace the ones on the reciever. how to listen to tuner.

You tie it in thru the tape monitor loop just like you mentioned. When the tape monitor switch is "on" on the receiver, you select "tuner" and the tuner works. IIRC.
