Robert Plant & Alison Krauss. UPS just delivered and listening to it.

No veredict on the music yet, but this CD must have some of the widest soundstage I've ever heard. There's a guitar passage on track 1 that came from a couple feet beyond the right speaker. I can just imagine how this would sound with SDA's.

have heard some low/tight bass also.

Will report later on the music....so far so good.

Just finished; strange mix between rock & country. Country is not my cup of tea....I think I liked four or five out of the 13 songs on first listen. You know sometimes songs grow on you, so that could happen with some....though for sure not all of them.

As I said, awesome soundstage in some of the songs. Decent recording.

Obviously I'm not very excited about this CD ;)

I like it more than Ricardo. "Country" don't scare me. I think T Bone Burnette should get some major props for what he's done. And I hope Rounder makes a fortune on this release. It musta taken some serious nerves to even consider releasing a Robert Plant/ Alison Krauss recording!

I picked it up also. Listened to it 2 or 3 times, it's just a weird mix.

I just hope they don’t do a Dion-Angélil and get hitched. You guys know that Carl rejected Krall’s advances and that is how she ended up with Costello?:D

Just got this album yesterday and I have to agree that its different but I thouroughly enjoyed it while driving home from work. I 'm not what I would consider a country music fan but this really isnt "country" so to speak. Plant and Krause are a good match and a pleasure to listen to when i want to relax and reflect upon the day with a cold drink in hand. For those that like something a bit bluesy, country, folksy with a pinch of rock give it a try! I'm glad I own it!

I've given it one quick listen there are a lot of middle eastern accents, some odd time signatures and interesting drums (tabla -type?). Not so much country, the one tune on the radio is unlike most of the rest of the album which is generally subdued. After a couple more listens I'll post more.

Just got this album yesterday and ... I (thoroughly) enjoyed it while driving home from work. You have a turntable in your car???

XM's Deep Tracks has been playing tracks off of this recently... BMG has it... I'm getting it. Very interesting vocal blend to say the least. On the duets Plant sounds so unlike himself you'd likely never guess it was him.

Instrumentally what I've heard has been very simple, but interestingly different.

Smooth shocks on the 07 Dodge Ram 2500... ;) Hey...Ya got me! I meant CD...sheesh!! BTW...isnt any collection of music organized by the artist or producer considered an album regardless of the medium/format that it is put on? LP,tape(8 track/cassette/reel to reel) CD,DVD,MP3,etc....?
Not trying to be a wise-acre but really...an album of music, an album of photos, a digital photo album, you see where I might be misguided here?
