Well, considering this is a polk forum, my biased view would to be to say yes, the momos, first and second gen, are great sounding speakers.

I've used Polk car speakers for at least 4 of my cars so far. Every single time the speaker just sounds awesome and they last forever!

I don't have a single complaint... well I guess I do have one. the momo 6500 has a larger magnet than most. but the good sound quality more than makes up for it.

Taking that cover off saves a little room but I bet they are talking about the frame size. As far a whether the MOMO sounds good they come from a speaker company that has a very good reputation for sound quality. If you get them let them break in for a few days and you will be good to go.

I had some infinity reference in my SUV (well I still have them..).... and they suck! no midbass, harsh highs, hollow mids, bottom out quickly.... overall pretty crappy... just in case you wanted to know...

I've got three sets of Momo's in the Stang right now. I like them.

Yuck. Infinity Reference are horrible speakers. I had a set for a couple years and they blew dog. Any kind of heavy guitar sounded more like a kazoo. Very harsh and fatiguing to listen to. Even the Kappa were too bright for me. I suppose if you like classical or jazz theyd be a good match but any kind of rock and they just dont work
