I agree, Joe is amazing! My wife took me to one of his concerts as a birthday gift. One of the best (loudest) concerts ever!

Simply an amazing talent. He also taught some of the very best in the bussiness. His amp is pretty awesome as well. I used to own one. I would own another.

I met him once when I was at Berkely (Boston, not CA). He was there doing a clinic, amazing guy.

In terms of true technical ability, there are very few that are on his level. In terms of blending technical ability with creativity and melodic riffs, there are only a couple.

Strange Beautiful Music is not my favorite of his, but it is recorded well on SACD.

I have been listening to Buckethead's album "Enter the Chicken" and can definitely recommend Nottingham lace and Waiting Here.

I am also a huge Satch fan and avid guitar player so might pick up this SACD.

I just saw Joe last week at House of Blues in Dallas. It was a terrific show man. It was my girlfriends sons first concert and he was straight blown away. I could go to a show like that every night!

One of my all time favorite Satch songs: The Forgotten Pt II on Flying in a Blue Dream.
Gives me shivers every time. Satriani on vinyl is very hard to find though. I've got a couple on dts cd disk. Fantastic in surround too.

I saw him in Atlanta about three weeks ago,, first up,2/3 of Mountain,, typical 60's power trio(actually thats' why I went),I must admit that I too, was blown away with Mr. S.,,now I'd heard his music before, but I was not prepared for what I was about to experience. A "must see" if he's in your area. I had no idea that I would be as entertained as I was,, The guy can play,,and he did just that. Since you guys are more familar with him than I am,, what would you say are his best albums,,in order of sound quality,,in other words,, what are his best "3" albums. Thanks. ;)

I love that song too. About half of that album are some of my all time favs. George a quick way to get a ton of great songs is to pick up The Electric Joe Satriani: Anthology. You can get it for like 12 bucks which is an incredible value for something like 30 of his best songs. That catches you up on a bit more than the best of all his older stuff (with a few missing). Incidentally these are many of the songs that you saw at the show. Next, my favorite is Super Collosal which came after the anthology so you won't duplicate. That is my all time favorite Joe album. Next nail the new one Professor Satch. You can always go back and pick up Flying, Surfing and the Extremist after you listen to those 120 songs into the ground.
