I posted this question already on another section and thought i would try here also.... Ok i want a non powered tuner to hook up to get better reception than my HT receiver, Can i plug it into the tape in or cd in so it go's through the receiver and i have all the options available like dsp's and 5 channel and function as if it were internal can this be done. i want a older onkyo or integra fm tuner, any models off the top ya head that are good??

yes you can hook a tuner up to any input except the phone input.

Great just what i was wanting to know, does anybody know a good model older tuner by Onkyo or integra? Let me know as i found a few on e-bay, like the T-4087 and T-4041, and some others, i like the 4087 because it has the rosewood side panels like my M-504 amp....

Maybe you should try improving the FM antenna on your HT receiver and see if you get better reception. Also turn off your cd/dvd player while using your tuner because they can give you interference.

I actually had a terk circle shaped antenna, then now i have the terk tower and still stinks on reception, always has even with my other Onkyo receiver and i like to listen to radio stuff and have had enough of the crappy reception, i have heard the older tuner separetes work great!! Thanks though

Check out Terk FM PRO its about 4 feet long and works real nice. You can mount it outside under an eve.Or in the attic. It uses standard RG6 or 59 if you like.

WoW e-bay price is around 75-80 bucks, good idea but after 2 antenna's and still shady reception seems like a tuner would be a feasable solution? But.... I could try one from best buy or somewhere i can return it if it don't work or if it does i can return it and head to e-bay for a cheaper than retail one.. good idea i will ponder on this, Just seems like you pay a grand almost for a receiver that the FM tuner should work great not just ok, the rest works like a charm just the tuner...
