I have thought long and hard on this and I have decided to sell my gaming PC. It is only about 4 mounths old. I first built it thinking I would be getting back into gamming but have not. So here we go.
Windows Vista Home Deluxe edition

AMD 64-Bit Dual Core Pross. 2.8GHz

Asus DVD\CD Burner Model DRW-181BLT Plus light Scribe

Sony DVD RW Modle DRU-830A Burner

Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM 160GB Hard Drive

Western Digital 500GB Hard Drive

2GB of Corsair Gamming RAM

Linksys Wireless-G PCI Network adaptor with SpeedBooster

ATI Radeon High Def 2900 with two DVI outputs with converters to make HDMI with audio

Built In audio with fiber optic and digital coaxal output "what I use"

OCZ 650 watt power supply

HD tunner Card

Logitech wireless mouse and key board

Gamming Mouse pad $12

Microsoft Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for computer

Last but not least an Asus 22 inch lcd monitor

Also are included are quite a few game ask if you would like to know what they are

I am asking "look at the last post" for this baby. Which is very resenable sence I built it for much more than that. Also I will take a trade looking for a set of good condition LSi15's. If you have any questions at all please ask.

I would be interested in the mouse pad and speakers if they're priced more reasonably than the computer. :)

Speakers are long gone sorry and the computer is well price if you were to put togethere this computer today it would still be over 2,000.

10-28-2007, 10:09 PM
Dangit, I really wanted those! :p

What's the MOBO and how old is it? If you were to build it on NewEgg, it comes out to ~1800 without the MOBO.

What about the mouse pad?

bigaudiofanatic
10-28-2007, 10:13 PM
It is a MSN-SLI Deluxe also a hyper cooler heat sync

I didn't know AMD quad cores were out. Which one is it?

I didn't know AMD quad cores were out. Which one is it?

If i had to guess its an FX-72 Windsor dual core processor with 2 processors on a socket 940.

That's the only way I'm aware AMD sells a "quad-core" setup.

audiobliss
10-28-2007, 10:54 PM
It's two dual cores on one MOBO if I'm not mistaken.

EDIT - bagged beat me to it.

bigaudiofanatic

My fault I was talking to someone about the quads while writing this corrected dual core

audiobliss
10-28-2007, 11:29 PM
Well, that certainly lowers the build cost a little bit.

Ok, I just have to comment on the rice-factor of that dragon case ;)

Price looks about right, in terms of what it would cost to build this new right now - but you'll probably have more luck parting out the accessories, because most people won't want to pay for some of the things in your bundle.

How fast is the RAM? And how many pins?

BaggedLancer

How fast is the RAM? And how many pins?

Based on the dual core 2.8 ghz AMD processor I'm gonna assume its a Athlon x64 Socket AM2 therefore making the ram DDR2 thus making it 240 pin?

Whats the good word bigaudiofanatic? Am i good or what?

I'm guessing you meant to put "resent-able scents." I've been told I have resent-able scents from time to time, too, nothing to be ashamed of.

I kid, I kid.

If you are willing to trade this puppy. . . I mean dragen. . . for some nice Lsi15s, then why don't you lower the price to $1200 or so, then take that money and get some minty LSi15s from Agon or wherever. With that much scratch/loot/booty, you should be able to get a nice LsiC as well. . .if you find a resenable deel.

Good luck!

I assume he didn't mean a straight trade for a set of Lsi15. If that was the case, I am game even though I hate games on PC.

I don't really do PC gaming any longer. Xbox and Wii these days. Sorry. Good price though.

You probably already know this....A machine geared for gaming can be used for just about anything else. You could also use it for a Media Center system, ripping CD/DVDs, Image and video editing. Don't think a gaming PC is just for Gaming. It usually gets the tag 'Gaming PC' to infer that its capable of running higher end games, which usually requires more power (and video capabilities) than any other normal home PC use for it. The other uses I mentioned also require higher end processing.

I agree, its a good price. Of course I am not quite sure what's left of the system And its upgradeable/modular for the most part, so you don't have to liek everything about it.

BigAudio.. perhaps you can repost what is up for $850?

bigaudiofanatic
04-11-2008, 02:57 PM
Good thinking mmaddes28 yes this CAN be used for many other things.
It's basicly everything that was in the very first post.

It's a good price for the whole package, it's just hard around here to sell a whole package like that. If you truly don't want to split, then just list the whole deal on eBay and get for it what you can.

Maybe when the government refund package comes in... if this is for sale I'd be interested.

How'd it play on Crysis?

Thanks man!

Thanks man! That video card will run Crysis fine, but not on high settings (and to be fair there are only a few cards that would).

It's actually a very solid computer, and for $850 with the monitor is a good price. The first thing you'd probably want to upgrade would be the video card, but otherwise I'd say you're good for a couple of years at least. The quad cores are becoming more popular, but I think we're at least a year or two before we start to see alot of mainstream applications optimized for 4 cores.

It seems to run head to head with my 8800GTS Extreme, actually slightly ahead since the FX-62 is a little slower than the E6400. I think I'll transfer the raptor to my C2D machine and let this one handle server/HTPC duties with RAID-5 setup.

How well did Vista perform for you on that machine?

I ask because on "mere mortal" machines Vista can be kinda clunky....

AsSiMiLaTeD
04-27-2008, 01:02 AM
Sami, which gen GTS card do you have, is it one of the 320/640 MB ones or the newer 512? The only card from AMD that I['m aware of that will touch the speeds of the newer 8800GTS stuff is the 3870, based on benchmark scores anyway - that's why I'm asking.

Sami
04-27-2008, 01:37 AM
320MB GTS, slightly factory overclocked. It seems like the 8800 starts to gain ground on the extreme resolutions, but I only run 1680x1050 as that's my displays native resolution. The 2900 beats the 8800 on lower resolutions quite easily.

Vista is fine on either machine, although not as fluid as XP.

AsSiMiLaTeD
04-27-2008, 01:45 AM
Yeah that makes sense, it's the newer 8800GT and GTS series that are the better cards. The 8800GTS 512 is the second machine will smoke even the 640 version of the older gts...and it's only 512.

Sami, let me know what your impressions of the Raptor drive are, if you notice a difference at all. I've been thinking of picking one up, but at the current price it's not something I've jumped on yet.

The newer VR150 series, the Velociraptor drives are coming out soon, they're going to start at 300 GB I think, but no idea on price yet.
