I'm currently using a velo vrp 1000, I'm thinking of selling and getting a new sub how much better of an upgrade would the hsu stf-1 be? Is there any other subs under $400.00 that are recommendable.
thanks

The STF-2 is under $400, I have one, and its amazing.
The extension down to 25Hz (STF-2) instead of 35Hz (STF-1) will certainly be worth having if you watch movies. If your only requirement is music, there isnt much content down that low, so the STF-1 would be a cheaper alternative without losing anything you need.

stf-2 here. Mostly movie, and when I'm listening to some types of music, I flip it on. Other than really needing a corner placement, it's easy to place, and blend fairly easy. It's good for movies, and great for music. Least expensive upgrade that made a 'wow' kind of difference.
