I already have an A1 and I just wanted to do alittle A-B comparison, and I don't need 2 HD DVD players, PQ they look basically the same but I decided I'm going to keep the A1 because of the analogs.

I've been running around trying to score one, but no love.

I really need an A2 and not an A3 which I'm sure will be on sale soon. The Fry's in Downer's Grove, IL was selling A3 for 89.99 on Saturday or Sunday until they ran out.

If it ends up being mine, thanks in advance.

PS - I've never had a big interest in owning movies and there's only one on the rebate list that I'm interested in. Keep the UPC and the movies for yourself, I'd just be happy to get the player for that price.

How would they know, the receipt just says Toshiba HD A2 Reg $99 -$10 RZ Cert, I had a $10 off coupon. It doesn't say any thing about being a floor model or demo on the receipt, and I have the UPC from the box so it should be all right, right?

I would bet that the "demo model" verbiage refers to pre-production models that are used for trade shows, press reviews, etc. I don't think there is any way that the 3rd party company handling the rebate forms is going to individually check each and every UPC to see if it was a floro model (assuming that they get that information from retailers such as Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc...which is highly unlikely).

Since he is sending the receipt along with the player, the bottom line is that the rebate form will work for this HD DVD player. Great deal for whoever bought it.

Just wanted to thank millerman for this player. Watched 2 movies on it so far, and really like loading times (firmware 2.5 vs. my XA1 with 2.3). :)

BTW there are updates available for both of those players, 2.4 for the XA1 and 2.7 for the A2.
