Does anyone know of a good Book on Audio, Audio formats, Setting up a good audio system?

I'd really like to find a bible that clearly defines all the terms, specs (AND their implications)

Online sources also of interest, but I prefer printed media when it comes to comprehension...

It's latest edition is 2000 I think but it's packed with good information for fledgling audio nuts.

Home Theater for Everyone - Robert Harley

ISBN 0-9640-849-2-9

Get the 3rd Edition.

The Complete Guide to High End Audio - Robert Harley

ISBN 0-9640-849-4-5

There are some great sources right here on the Polk Site...

Since you like hard paper - I would ask them to send you their guide to home theater. (http://www.polkaudio.com/education/hthandbook.php)

There are also quite a few online tips you can read (http://www.polkaudio.com/education/advice.php)while waiting for it to arrive.

It's not much, but it is free.

Happy Reading,

Michael

Probably more "200 level" than "100 level" (only due to the subject matter), but... If you ever get interested in tube audio, this is a decent place to start:

I'm working my way through the Harley High End Audio book now. It answers a lot of questions, and as a hobbiest, I'm really enjoying learning more about Home Audio.

You also might want to check out Crutchfield's web site.....they have very good HT advise and set up guide as well as the Education section here on the Polk site.
