I remember a text only D&D game in 1985 but I can't remember the name.

I remember using my pc's modem to dial up local BBS's to play LORD. My parents were always wondering what the hell I was using the phone line for :p

Hah ... man, that makes me feel old. :) I remember the exact same thing ... used to play LORD as well as a game called The Pit. Another one that I was hooked on for a while was called Modern Warfare ... only a few BBS' had it, but it was a strategic warfare game that was all text based. Really fun!

I also remember Lemonade Stand on the ol' IBM ... that was a classic that I played for many hours.

Pools of Radiance was the 2nd pc game that really grabbed me; great call!

I remember I used to get all these hacked games form a guy in my high school..I would come home with dozens of floppy disks at a time:D

I like Karateka, Micro League baseball, all those King's Quest games...

need for speed , flight simulator, some racing game, where you build your own tracks all on the C64, I had like 200 games for that thing.

I blew many summer months on Bard's Tale 1, 2, and 3.

I broke many joysticks playing Track and Field.

And, I remembered a silly little game about a penguine looking for his mother and I was able to unite the two. Totally addictive.

LOL Track and Field was a terrific game Fatch. My OG game was Star Wars on the C64.

First C64 game: Choplifter.

Since then, I had virtually every game - I cracked games in the computer lab in Jr. High before school.

I have a C64 emulator on this very PC that I am using right now. Favorite game: Telengard.

Anybody here play full metal planet? Way before age of empires but with a chess like strategy twist 'cause it couldn't do the turns in real-time and was more like a board game.

M.U.L.E. is really old school. Vaguely remember that one...

Raid Over Moscow and Karateka for the C64 was awesome. I also loved Faery Tale Adventure for the Amiga...what a great system that was. I remember my mom buying me an external 40 meg hard drive (not gig, mind you) for over $1300.00. She must have been nutz! lol!

Not that long ago (15-20 years I guess), but I would hyperventilate, blowing in Mario Bros. game.

The funny part is, now, in 2007!!!!! My kids are blowing in thier gameboy games to get them to work...lol...thats too funny...

I loved MULE b/c it was the 1st multiplayer/ strat game ever put out (at least that I can remember) and you were learning about economics at the same time (imagine that, learning and fun together.)

Track and Field ROCKED. Loved that game!! Hah, and I hear ya jake, I remember either blowing into the cartridges until you felt giddy, or giving it the old "nintendo tap" (which was an open palmed slap as hard as you could to the top of the console.) Too much of that and you had to juuuuuuuuust barely slide the cartridge in and then click it down, or it wouldn't register.

I traded my C64 for an Amiga to. It only lasted about a year before it dumped on me, floppy drive wouldn’t work. Got it back and the new one didn’t work so I went out and bought my high powered 386SX 12mhz PC with 1 meg of ram and 40 meg hard drive. The upgrade sillyness happened fast, spent $250 on the brand new 80 meg hard drive, $200 for another meg of ram and $250 for 4 new video eproms that were 128K each and then my $200 DX chip.
