i have R50 mains.. i am about to purchase either CS1 or a CSi25. which one will match better with R50? I have not heard either one of those, but i been browsing around and people seem to suggest csi25 and some suggest csi3 which is similar to cs1

There are no specific recommendations on the R50 web page for a matching center, as you probably know already (which is a shame, IMO). I've read people posting that the CSi3 is a better center than the CS1, and can be found cheaper, but then I have also read that the CSi5 is a big step up from the CSi3 but "too much" for a speaker like the R50 (and others). In theory, at least, the CSi centers match the RTi range best and the CS centers match the Monitor range best. It may be that the "official" match is actually the CSR and I've read posts by delighted owners of this center as well.

Why not ask the professionals? Send an e-mail message to customer support and see what they suggest as suitable center matches for the R50, then post the answer back here for the next happy R50 owner!

Just an idea!

The CSi20 & CSi25 are the center channel speakers for the r-series. You can use whatever you like but, technically, those two models mate / match the r-series.

I liked the CS2 when R50's were my front speakers.

CS2 on Eplay is not that expensive.
