Hi!
I am from Norway, and I am considering buying either RTi12 or RTi A9.
I had made up my mind to go for Dali Ikon 7, when I came over these Polks.
My problem is these loudspeakers are not available to listen to where I live.
I was wondering if some of You have heard the Ikon 7s and could tell me if the sound in the Polks are somewhat similar to the Ikon7s?
I really believe whichever Polk I would buy, I would be extremely satisfied, but I do believe you can see my dilemma in buying "un-heard"speakers.
I am most likely going for one of the Polks anyway, but a professional respond from you who really know Polk would work wonders for my dilemma=)
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Stian,
Norway

Greetings!
I am not familiar with the Dali Ikon, but thought you at least deserved a response from someone so you know you aren't being ignored.
I have a pair of RTi6 with a small Polk sub which I enjoy very much. In the US they represent an excellent value. I suspect prices in Europe are higher, perhaps making them less competative with European products there.
I don't know if I would buy a speaker without being able to hear it first, but life is full of difficult choices.
Good Luck!

Welcome. The RTi line is a great speaker for HT, but a lot of people find it is a little too bright for 2 channel music. I have not heard the new line, but I would assume it has very similar sound to the RTi.
Hope this helps in your decision. If you're going to use it for HomeTheater, the risk of not liking it IMO is very low.

The Ikon line looks and sounds terrible compared to the other speakers from that manufacturer.

Hi guys!
Thanks for your response.
You´re quite right Jim, the RTi12s is priced at around 3000 dollars...
BUT, a friend of mine gets 40% off, and that is a very nice price here in Norway.
This is why I´m considering buying them without being able to hear them first.
Im gonna use them for both home theater and 2 channel music.
I do believe they are 10 times better than the old Prosons I´ve got, so I dont think I can go wrong with Polk...
Anyway, when I decide, I´ll be sure to let you know =)

Would it be cheaper to ship it from the good ol' USA?
Besides, europe has so many good speaker makers, surprised you can't find a good used pair for the same coin.

Have to pay VAT, and you end up with the same amount..
I dont want used speakers, gotta be new=) as I said earlier, I get 40% off on Polk, thats why they´re winning for now..hehe

Hi again.
Well, had the 3808 in the weekend. Thought the sound was excellent. On Home Theater as well, WOW, even though I used my old center as the polk hasnt arrived yet. Would have no problem buying the Denon at once, but since I´ve spent 3-4 months on the speakers, I figure I can spend a bit more than 1 day on the receiver..=) So the coming weekend the plan is to test Onkyo 875.
The Denon is priced at approx 2000USD and the Onkyo at 3000. The Onkyo has to perform :):)

morning,
the Onkyo sounded great as well. They both sounded the same; great!!
So have to say the cheaper one tops my list so far.
Next up for testing is Pioneer LX60.. at least I hope so.
this is hard :)
