Sitting watching football today ive become restless yet again with my system. Ive been playing with the toe and and distance from my walls but i cant seem to get the "invisible" sound im looking for. When i look at my speakers i dont want to see where the sound is coming from (if that makes sense ) For instance, the vocals and drums are centered, i.e when im looking and listening for where the sound is coming from i cant tell. But when it comes to all the other instruments its pretty easy to identify them coming directly from the speakers.

Anybody have and advise on how to achieve this effect?

Looking at your system...

I would honestly start with a new source, preamp, and amplifiers ---

Possibly different cabling as well...

But one thing to keep in mind, if you don't like the sound of your speakers, all you are doing when you add different electronics is making the sound you don't like sound somewhat more refined --

But I would start with the electronics if you want to keep the speakers...

I really like the sound. Movies are insane. But when im listing to 2 channel i feel like i can get a little more out of what i have.

Are the rt1000's known as an "up front" speaker?

p.s. im looking for a new amp so 100% i agree...

I've owned so many amps...

It will make your stuff sound bettr -- but not acheive what you are looking for...

Source should be your first change --- then the preamp - then the amp...

Garbage in, garbage out...

1. I would try pulling them out further in front of your rack.

2. Listen in the dark, to fine tune placement.

"Speakers that disappear"?

Quad electrostatics (vintage or modern).

Ohm speakers using the Walsh driver (ditto).
