Blade/Blade for SRS II question

I hope I don't get chastised for this too bad for asking but here goes. Since the lone blade/blade cable I had for my SRS II's went today with the delivery of my SDA 1C's to Texas42, I now have no connection between them. I'm ordering parts to make the XLR connection for them versus just buying one off Ebay. I've read the section (page 63) in the Compendium about Raife making sure to "check, double-check, and recheck the polarities of the SDA wires to make sure that one speaker's wiring was the reverse of the other. Otherwise, a nasty short circuit condition would result when the SDA cable was plugged in."

Obviously, I don't want to let the magic smoke out of anything so I need input. Am I taking that to mean that (for instance) the left speaker's top blade goes to the right speaker's bottom blade and vice versa? I shoulda metered that darn cable before I left this morning! :D

The SDA cable is swapped, not parallel. Your top L to bottom R spade is correct.

Polarity makes a huge difference. I put my massive Para HCA-220 into protect mode with a single wire reversed. I found it easily and have been rocking along since, but if you want to be sure everything is "burned in," then that's one way to do it.

On the pin blade type cable , the pin is connected to black terminal on the input speaker cup on both speakers so I assume the cable is pin to pin and blade to blade ? Is this correct

On the pin/blade, the pin is the only one that carries the signal. When I put new terminals on the SRS 2.3's, I only had to use one banana binding post for the connection between the two.

Ok, my next dilemma in looking at these is that on the IC connectors, they are mounted opposite on the speakers. Meaning, on the left speaker, the "wider" blade is on the bottom and the narrower on top. On the right speaker, it's just the opposite! Man, I'm too tired to be figuring this out right now but darnit...I wanna hear them. I guess I had assumed that the connector would be the same on both sides. You know, wide blade on top, narrow one on bottom but, noooooo... Does it follow the shape of the pin or the location it's in? Or, am I going to need to take the passives out and see what wire is where?

Maybe some here has a ohm meter and can ring out their blade/blade cable and tell you if horizontal blade is connected to the horizontal blade , Vertical to vertical. It will take someone about 1 minute. ;)

There's not a horizontal and vertical on mine or any others I've seen. They are both horizontal. Oh well...I can mess with it tomorrow.

Two parallel flat blades, one wider than the other, that do not cross.

Narrow blade shows continuity to the narrow blade and wide to wide.

Somebody effed up, either at the factory or later in life. To be 100% positive about what is connected where, I would advise removing the plates to check the wiring.
