Playing through it again on Veteran. This game is so much better than the other 3. They finally have the controls figured out so that they have much more accuracy. Very happy with this purchase, although with AC coming out tomorrow I am not sure how much time I will have to play this one anymore.

I like ATI colors more, but a lot of games are coded for Nvidia. Catalyst drivers suck. Main reason I stay away from ATI. Are you looking for a new card? What price range?

Right Ben. ATI is more like a legend. nVIDIA is better for later version IMO. I'm using omega drivers (http://www.omegadrivers.net/). My mother board has only AGP slot so I think my only upgrade is X1950. I might wait for another year to upgrade my 5 years old work station.

Why on earth would you want to do that? I would understand if it was one of those Mario clones you're playing but for FPS mouse and a keyboard are a must, otherwise you're in a huge disadvantage over other PC players.

Yeah, left hand for the Nostromo and the right hand controls the mouse. You have to map the keys. The thing fits like a glove and just dominates in FPS.

That said, if you're used to a keyboard you may still like that more. It's just like using 2 mice, but one is like your keyboard.

There may not be one for that game yet. Might want to check out CoD4 gaming forums, you wouldn't be the only one with it.

I use mine for any PC game I play as you just map the keyboard keys to that. So, figure out what button on your keyboard does what in the game and map it to the key you like on the Nostromo.

I don't use any of the built in profiles for any of the games I play so I can't tell you if it would be worth waiting for or not.

I didn't think I would like it either, but I tried it, and it works great. The thing is heavy, and stable. It is also thin with a palm rest built in. The only thing that I did not like is the space button is so close the other buttons. I have checked out both, and for me this is definitely the way to fly.

i'm less 6" 100lb than you but I think I have the monkey hands. It said it has adjustable wrist-pad but I couldn't figure it out how. I saw the slot between the base pad to move, its too tight to move backward and don't wanna break it.

OKay I am going to give another mini review on this. This is more geared to the xbox live version.

1) The Challenges are just fun to do. I think the head shot shallenges are a little over the top, but obviously these will be done last. It's almost like more "acheivements" within the game. And it literally makes you want to play one more round.

The hardest weapon I have encountered is the G-3 assault weapon. For some reason the single shot on this weapon makes it a little harder.

At first I thought the Sniper rifle to be useless, but it is now a favorite weapon of mine. Only really good on two maps though.

2) The Perks were an EXCELLENT idea. Not sure if they did this on COD 3 or not. (Can someone confirm this? Billz?) What makes it fun is that one perk for one weapon may not work for another. You want to use "Slight of Hand" with the LMG's. But it is useless on say the SMG's.

3) One negative is I see a huge host advantage in some games. Or there is the staple standby trick being used. I have not figured it out yet though. Lets just say I average 12 to 20 kills a round, and 12 to twenty deaths a round. But sometimes when I search for a map and join a room, I will get roasted. I played a round today that had me dumbfounded. 3 kills (two by grenades) and 20 deaths. I was point blank shooting people only for them to turn around and kill me. I am level 38, these were level mid-20's players.

Overall that is the only flaw I can complain about. Live is a great environment for this game. And it just gets better and better every time I play it.

yeah, sometimes i'll have an entire game where i riddle the opponent with bullets to center mass and headshots and they end up killing me with a pistol. something is up there. not sure what.

I personally loved starting over, because I actually did things a lot differently, and noticed a huge increase in my skill. Most notably I use stopping power a lot more than I do martyrdom.

When you hit prestige you have a choice of staying at level 55 forever, or you can start the weapons all over again. I chose to start all over again. It keeps the game fresh.

As far as Prestige Mode goes, you continue to earn different rank Insignia, however you lose everything and start over so all weapons, perks, accessories are lost until you earn them again. I'm a 3 star General as of now, theres no way Im losing all my cool weapons.

The single player is wearing on me a little. Multiplayer is still fun though. I don't like being forced to run and gun to the next waypoint. But, on the other hand, it wouldn't make sense to be able to camp in one place and kill an entire army in a major engagement.


They do vary the gameplay a lot between stages, but I really prefer a take-your-own approach to combat in these games. The approach that a game like FarCry or Bioshock takes is more appealing to me. Just adding some of my 2 cents.

Just played the game for the first time at a friends place last night. I'm glad to see they finally broke free from the WWII theme, I think we have seen one too many of those.

I didn't have a chance to play the single player, but the multiplayer was a blast. Though I was very disappointed that players on the same x-box aren't allowed to play online. With halo 2, up to four can play on the same system. I thought I would see the same for COD4... Was there some sort of option we overlooked?

Anywho, its a nice change for the better and whenever I decide to buy a 360 sometime in the near future, this will be on the top of my list.

I find that is one of the two downfalls to this game. I can't believe that they didn't make COOP an option and only 1 person can play online from a single 360.

I found this to be one of the best games I've played on the 360. The single player gets better as you go through, but the online is where it really separates itself. I haven't been this into a game since Counter Strike. The only downfall I could find is the same with every online shooter...there are people that get the chance to play a lot more than me, so I get schooled quite a bit. Other than that frustration, I could play this one all day!

Not that anyone else cares, but I just got a copy of this for christmas for the DS. It is really fun to play. The buttons under your thumb move forward and back and strafe right or left. The stylus works like the mouse (drag stylus for look and turn - a double click of the stylus operates second funtion for the weapons (hold rifle to cheek, etc.)) The fire button is the rear button on the DS under your index finger.

All in all, gameplay is much better than I was expecting and the graphics are not bad at all. (nothing like a computer monitor, but the resolution and size are much smaller as well).

One of the best DS games I have played so far - A must have for any lover of first person shooters.

Boy is this shiz pissing me off lately. COD4 managed to make me lose 5 ranks on the 360 over the past couple of days. I was sitting at 50 and when I logged on this morning I was back down to 45. WTF? no they don't. xbox live is what is causing the mess ups right now. it's even somehow affecting my xbox 360 in general. even my blades are slow to respond. it's not the game.

It does suck right now, but as said its probably all the little kids joining up and getting online. Last time I played, the kids voice in my headset sounded as is he/she were no more than 7 or 8 yrs old.

This game was just not long enough. I completed the game this weekend and once it was over, I just sat there wanting more. Looks like I'm going to have to bit the bullet and go online to enjoy it some more. I've never played XBOX Live so I may need some help on how to navigate around before to long.

Dude...once you get online, your free time will be over. Addicting as hell. Leveling up and completing challenges is a blast. Give Live a go...it's well worth the little $$$.

Finally hit level 55 in multiplayer, I can definately say I have no desire to do the prestige mode since it's pretty much worthless.

I am going to just work on my challenges from here on out. I finally finished with the p90 and got the red tiger camoflauge which is totally badass.

Yeah man that was crazy fun. Hell I know sherard and I played for at least an hour before you showed up. So it must have been about at least a 6 hour playing spree.

One thing I can say for sure. Sherard is by far the best COD4 player I have ever seen. That is no joke. He is the only player I have ever seen with 30 kills in a team deathmatch game. Not sure what game controller performing enhancer he takes, but I want some!!

Got back into the groove and had a 32 kill, 5 death deathmatch after a couple rounds with my crappy re-roll gear. Once you get used to the detail of the controls for this game it's a complete blast.

I love the game, but I really can't wait until they get a new map pack for it to make a it a little more exciting again.

Reason I ask is that Team Polk has semi been challenged by a team that I work with. So I told them we were going to be on Saturday night, so I thought it would be cool to have a little rivalry started. And with our Ace in the Hole (R3D T34Rs) we should wipe the floor with these guys.

Funny guy, Im usually on most of the night (evening there for you guys/morning here for me), so I'll keep a look out. We played last night and it sucked something terrible, extreme lag. You didnt miss awhole lot, Shepx introduced us to Ground War, 18 people(9 vs. 9) in an all out battle, sick fun and tons of chaos.

Seems like when I log on everyone is usually doing their own thing, so I just go into my own matches. I usually check to see if 2 or more people are in the same match before I do that. You're the only one who send out invites -- unless I throw you one first. :)

Anyhow, I usually play more on the weekends. Work has me sapped every night I'm usually passing out watching a movie or something on TV. :o

Hey Grim! I kept trying to join you guys last night, although it looked like I was a bit late every time and the game would launch. Perhaps I'll host one up and invite you guys, if you'll be on this weekend.

I've been playing a lot in the single player...trying to get achievements.

I've been getting the invites, but for the last 2 days whenever I try to join you guys I get the boot (connection error)

usually means something in our networks are wroking together right. I had this problem with Chromehounds too, if one person on the team had a connection that didnt jibe with mine, I couldnt get in.

Played with Chevy, Bizill and four of my buddies tonight. We absolutely smoked the competition. I think we played at least 10 rounds winning 8 handly, coming in second very close (by 10 points) once, and getting our butts handed to us on BOG once. Overall we made a lot of people very very angry at times.

Damn, we had a BLAST last night, didn't we Marines? I ended up losing internet about 3 a.m. this morning, hell of a time to lose it, huh. Yeah Meatpod and Taipan I both work with. Meatpod is a Nurse, and Taipan now lives in Colorado and works in OR as an anesthesia tech. the only other friend I was missing last night was shindig who is my neighbor.

Oh and last night I would have to say was our best night yet of clubpolk gaming. For the most part we dominated, we had a few weak games, but overall we stuck it to the competition.
