Anyone played with Simcity Societies yet?

I've been a fan of 2000, 3000, 3000 Unlimited, and Simcity 4 Rush Hour. 3000 Unlimited is my favorite. 4 is gorgeous but I felt it lost something in the translation in terms of gameplay.

Societies is not a Maxis game and I wonder if it's any good, cheesy, or bad cheese.

I feel the same way about simcity 4 vs 3000 unlimited. I felt that 4 was just too much to keep track of and not nearly as fun as 3k unlim. Of course, I thought this was just me because I learned on 3k and then went to 4 after some time.

My best city was about a 100 mi^2 megalopolis that I grew from nothing - a lot of fun!
