ATI TV Wonder 650 (http://ati.amd.com/products/tvwonder650/pci/index.html) Reduced to $50 Shipped CONUS.
I bought it a few months ago online for $120 and trying to free up the PCI slot since I didn’t use much. You could watch the HDTV and record like a TiVo. It filled up my dedicated 200GB hard drive easy. Make sure to clean up the folder often if you have smaller space.
I have original box and accessories.

Does it do clear QAM?

I'm not sure what QAM does but it has ATSC tuner which is required to receive over-the-air (OTA) digital channels broadcast by local television stations. Check http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx for your location. I got crystal clear 1080i resolution on most channels.

Well, to be honest with you, I have never tried since I do not have HD signal from Cable. I'm not sure it does or not. Please check with ATI or local Cable company. Sorry.

Let me check when I get back home. I'll get back to you.

At least where I live with comcast the cable box itself or a cable card is what actually puts the HD into something you can watch. Without the box or card I don't believe you can have HD unless its OTA.

So unless you have or are able to connect an "out" from those two devices to the card I'm not sure it can work.

Anyone else want to confirm this?

A QAM tuner takes "clear" HD broadcasts directly from a cable feed. Not all cable providers carry HD in the clear, but many do. It is not the same as ATSC OTA.

It said cable TV and OTA HDTV, does NOT say cable HDTV. Is that HD signal from cable require encrypt/decrypt things or something like that?
Please see the box.
