Can anyone tell me if the jl 300/4 amp would be enough to power two sets of the mm6 components and if not what other amps would you reccomend? thanks

I think that amp is rated at 75 watts x 4; if so that will be fine.

This 4 channel amplifer uses a regulated power supply and has a power rating of 75 Watts per channel. With a regulated power supply you won't have any headroom available when cranking the system therefore increasing your chances of over driving and clipping the amplifier. This amp may work just fine depending on your listening habits and the vehicle that you plan on installing it in but to be safe I would suggest looking for a power rating of 100 to 150 Watts per channel. This is where the 300/2 would come into play. Use two of these amplifiers and I am sure that you won't be disappointed. FYI, here are the specs on the 4 channel amp.

i'm not sure how a bridge would work on a regulated amp, but if you already have the 300/4 and dont want to just scrap it, you could try briding it and running just 1 set of comps off it... 75x3 = 220 by 2 ... keep the gains down (if u've got a 2 vrms preout - about 30% would do) and those 6.5 components should scream -- i do about 140-150 x 2 on my fronts off two 180/1 amps, and it's a helluva improvement over the 65 by 2 i used to run.

however kim is right in the long run -- a 'true' 150 x 2 amp would be better than underpowering or bridging a weaker amp up to it... it keeps the thd down, and the device is then working within its means.
