Hi,

Guys just curious.. How many of you prefer the naked version of you speakers? Grills on or off?? Whats your pick?

With the new RT's that new blue color is sooo sweet. I had to leave my covers off to show off such beauty not to mention the sound......That blue on black is HOT...

Also What model do you guys have?

I have read some speaker reviews that claim noticeable differences in sound between grilles on or off. I guess I can understand why this would happen, but it bothers me that apparently even some speakers in the range of say, $500/pr and higher (for bookshelfs) aren't designed in way that renders the grille nothing more than a sonically transparent cosmetic add-on. It seems to me that this would be one of the easier things to do, but then again, I don't know squat about speaker engineering.

I like them off. My wife makes me keep them on. She thinks I am showing off to friends and neighbors...

Grills on I got kids.I like to take them off and look at the drivers when I sit down for awhile.......The Vifa tweeter off to the side looks cool.

Just like a beautiful woman, they are best when they are naked. Some would disagree, but I feel there is a distinct sonic difference in sound with respect to imaging.

I love them that way and admit grills are off 100% of the time when indulging in music.

Peace

i keep my speakers grills on, they look better in my op...but i like to keep my subwoofer grill off, those high compliance drivers by M&K could keep a bored person accupied for hours by just trying to read the lettering while playing a heavy bass song! but the polks are nice too when ur really pumping music too em...lol

On.

Friends don't let drivers drive loaded with dust .
And as there is sunlight coming into the room, can't imagine UV is good for them either.

On for the prevention of curious little 2 year old fingers.

I'm on luc's side of the fence regarding the Dust though. Before my little girl I always kept them on.

I have kids also, 4 and 4 months, she doesnt touch them at all, smart kid! I keep them all on, except sometimes when i watch a good movie or sitting alone listening to good music, wife could care less on or off. Mostly though only the front mains when they are off, i have a heavy dust problem in my house so i am always dusting my precious gear and speakers.... LOL

I see the grills as dust covers and protectors of the drivers. Blue is cool and all but I want to protect my investment. In fact I have two drivers with slight tears on the rubber edge. I bet my sister's cat used my speakers for shapening up here claws and got them even with the grill on.
