Well after the harsh lecture you gentlemen gave me, I finally came to my senses and realize that insanity indeed began to take its course in the absence of my 2000's.

In a moment of reflection I realize I need to get my act together, and soon! :) Within a year I have purchased, sold or given away more audio equipment then most sane individuals would go through in a life-time.

Tomorrow the KLH's will be returned. This means once again I will be out of sound. I have been searching like a mad man for a reasonable deal which fall within my seemingly impossible demands.

Considering I have demoed for myself very few brands, Im pretty much stuck with the stuff you find in best buy and circuit city.

You all have been great to me, feel like Im beating a dead horse here but I figure I will still give it a few kicks:

Here is what Im looking for:

A decent.....diverse system for $300.00 (not willing to go much more then that). It must sound presentable, durable, maintain some sense of space and realism, and should be able to produce a wide frequency range - from 20,000 whatever htz to around 30-35 htz.

hehe A tall order I know, but Im sure something will come around.. I have heard some damn good suggestions so far :)

Thanks!

Z

He's looking to spend $300 on speakers there Dan, re-write that post.... Surely you can come up with a decent pair of speakers for $300?

Cheers,
Russ

RIGHT up my alley, the only two items in my inventory that I paid more than 300 for were my sub and my center. Everything else is under 300.

I emailed you some sights to look at. Now, having said that, think about QUALITY not QUANTITY, alright? If you are using these for primarily music, most folks would be reasonably satisfied with anything in the 50hz range.

Last time I checked, www.audioconsultants.com had a pair of DQ-10's for 300 bones, course shipping is going to be a consideration but if you could suck it up and hang on to the Carver amp, problem just about solved. Then you would have a pair of speaks that you would probably never outgrow. If you plan on using a receiver though, don't waste your time, the DQ's will ruin a receiver quickly.

Other speakers to look for AR Hi-Res series, ie 9's and 11's...I've seen them on ebay pretty reasonable.

The dubyah's that phuz found, not bad either. Those will go fairly deep.

I wouldn't rule out a pair of Polk R40's either.....

Man, with a LITTLE effort, there are so many good speakers out there.

Mantis, oh man that rotel offer makes me drool all over the place......... damn damn, talk about at the right place at the wrong time.!!

Troy,

Good deal, I sent you a reply. Unfortunately the amp is already packaged up and ready to go.

I honestly am struggling to see myself *settle* like this, though I truely enjoy the suggestions!! Keep em coming!

In the mean time, Im going to deploy a weapon I have not used since 15 years old.... on my oh so loving investors (parents) wish me luck gentlemen!!!!!!!!

Make sure he sends the speakers first. Then send Scott $200 and send madmax $100. If only this would happen then everything would work out...........

Well there is some good news on my behalf, some un-expected checks have come in...giving my situation quite a boost.

This being said, the LSi-9 pair are within grasp to where financing will be in a comfort zone. Going to just grit my teeth and wait however long it takes for me to obtain this pair, though its looking brighter.

Once again boys, thanks for all the offers and advice - have learned a bit in the process! You guys are the best !: )

Ralph76,
Thanks!
The stand is made by FurnitureWorks.
As for the carpet patterns, Can't be shown off no lint filled pit!

Wife says "No Pictures Unless Everything is Clean!!" Not really a problem, she never lets anything get dirty!

www.crutchfield.com has the same stand (looks the same at least) - it's nice, and not nearly as expensive as most of the other stuff....

Yep, that's the same one. I got mine for about $50 bucks less than Crutchfield's price.

For $300.00, you could probably snag some 10Bs. No stand or sub needed.

I would like to get a nice stand something like the Bello WU-2100
from www.bello.com but they are just too expensive. Any of you know where to get really nice HT stands at low prices????
