Alright --

Up for grabs is a pretty good shape pair of VMPS Tower IISE...

Has a mark about 1 ft off the floor on one tower, about 1/8" wide, 1.5" long -- does not break veneer. Can be touched up or refinished

Several marks here and there scattered on the top of each...

Grills are in great shape, bases are made of MDF - finished by paint, I'd rate the bases about 6.5/10...

Have brand new PRs...

JM Lab Kevlar Inverted Domes
Raven Ribbon Super Tweeter
VMPS midranges and woofers

Speaker features a midrange with its own enclosure --
Dual 12" active woofers and a 12" PR ----

They are extremely detailed, laid back, not a very forward sound...

Great for small rooms with no room for a subwoofer, as they definitely do not need one --- the detail on the top end is phenominal....

Only reason for selling is -- not quite as good as my Taylos which currently sell for about 4 times the price vs. the VMPS -- so what can you expect

Sold BRAND NEW FOR 3,400 dollars!!!

Will sell for the same price I paid from Early B's friend --

Local Pick Up is preferred, will ship at buyers complete expense, this includes packing materials (roughly $50.00 + in 2" foam -- boxes are free) --- + actual shipping cost + insurance --- garunteed to arrive as described!!

120 pounds (x2) from 28023

Price? $600.00

Would like to point out ---

Cabinets are oak veneer - painted... anyone willing to spend a week or so with some paint thinner and sand paper and is good at finishing can have a FANTASTIC looking pair of speakers!

Can't hear 'em from here. They didn't suit your needs?

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-25-2007, 10:51 PM
Well to be honest with ya.. LOL

I bought them because Brad said they were better than mine...

They arn't exactly worse -- they are different, which isnt exactly my kind of sound...

They are so accurate, to me is almost sounds unreal ---

they are the BEST speaker I've ever heard for low volumes, late night listening --

The detail they bring to the table is absolutely unbelieveable, the bass even at low volumes has a kick to it..

Hard to describe -- it will knock ya out as far as detail and bass goes... pretty good mids to boot

But those Taylos are my baby's... hahahha

Go On....

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-25-2007, 11:01 PM
What kind of info do ya need? :)

They are flat to about 25hz... if you have any kind of high frequency hearing loss, they will definitely remedy that problem as they present details better than any speaker I've EVER heard.. - period... the Revelator tweeter in my Taylos arnt even as detailed as these speakers

Use a high quality Focal tweet, and an even higher quality Raven ribbon super tweet

All surrounds are rubber -- no foam, carbon fiber woven cones on bass and midrange drivers

Can be bi-wired or full range at the flip of a switch

They also cook your breakfast!

Hey lightman --

Take a trip to Trey's and put a listen on those TII's. Bring your RTA's and compare. I'll bet money you'll walk out with the TII's on your arm.

To put it simply

These are EASILLY the best speakers I've ever heard for 600 bucks....

And thats a fact jack...

lightman1
11-25-2007, 11:15 PM
Low level listening quality and cooks...!!! I'm sure there's no question against the RTA's.
Sounds promising. I listen to music at a low to moderate level when reading. Just tired of adjusting the low HZ for the 10's for every CD.

And Brad, I can't get the fishy smell out of that Denon.

How 'bout an audition?

I guess first dibs go to Russ?

Dun dun dun...

Got the VMPS back plugged up and running good...

What a good sounding speaker at low volumes... hear everything loud and clear!

Plugged them up at a good time of day/night

Selling the hell out of 'em, aren't ya?

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-26-2007, 12:41 AM
I dig em at low volume...

If I was like Russman and had like 20 rigs in my house....

This would be a definite bedroom/low listening level speaker system type deal...

In my small room though... ;)

Need I say more??? lol

This offer is good until November 30th, midnight -- and after that it will be back to 550 - non negoiatable and price will be deleted afterwards

Im going after a set of these in the next year --

Wont have the room to have the VMPS around ---

http://tyleracoustics.com/Images/speakers/Linbrook/super_rm_lg1.jpg

I've pretty much decided, after hearing the 1.2TL side by side, the Amazings, the VMPS, the Grande Utopia - etc etc

There isnt much out there that I am going to like more, maybe parallel -- so why do something different when all I want is right here ---

These speakers (VMPS) really are good speakers, they just 100% are not my cup of tea...

Damn, nice price.
Too bad they weren't still in Atlanta, I'd give them a run. I'm starting to think the Mirage are too big and might be looking to downsize.

AndyGwis
11-29-2007, 11:42 PM
Trey, if you want to sell these now, maybe you shouldn't tell people you're gonna sweeten the pot even further in a few days. . . cuz then they're gonna wait till you're practically giving them away for free before jumping at 'em.

Maybe try something a bit more aggressive, like "if these aren't sold in the next 48 hours, I'm gonna put them up on Agon for $800 where they'll sell in 30 minutes. And if they're not sold by Sunday, I'm going to set them on fire."

Great speakers, though. You're very generous to offer them at this price. Going any lower would truly be insanity.

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-29-2007, 11:51 PM
Actually --

If they arn't sold for 450 by the end of the night, I actually am putting them on Agon for $600.00 and the discount for Polkies will be 550...

I'm trying to help a Polkie out and trying to move these quick so my Mom dosnt get mad having them in the den...

And if this is how people are perceiving it -- then they truly deserve to be put on Agon

RuSsMaN

Put them Audiogon already, spend $6, sell them. Simple, easy.

And if this is how people are perceiving it -- then they truly deserve to be put on Agon

I can speak from experience regarding this phenomenon. When Russman lists something good locally, I try to wait as long as possible before putting in my dibs. Basically, after it seems he can't possibly go any lower on price. . . he'll offer one final discount. . . then I jump on it :)

MUAHAHAHAHAHA.

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-30-2007, 12:08 AM
Well Ill put it this way

For 450 bucks - this is a steal
At 600 dollars - it is a steal
At 800 dollars - it is a steal

These speakers are right up there with the LSi series with more detail than the LSi series --

The bass response of a PC Ultra

And the clarity of a far more expensive speaker

These are worth driving some distance for..

Dude, it's not a formal rule, but one or two bumps, a price reduction or two - then let some other people have the top post in the flea market. After a couple of bumps, no one is interested.

Revisit in a month, sure - or just list it publically and get it done. There is little worse than the desperate flea market thread that won't die with dignity.

Dude . . .

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-30-2007, 01:30 AM
haha --

Was talking to Audiobliss earlier --

I think itd be pretty nifty to disconnect the woofers from the crossover ---

Reroute the cables to a seperate terminal and just use them as subwoofers... thatd be sweet.

Would basically be an upright, smaller set of larger subs --

Thatd be nifty...

Use them as the "stands" to surround speakers (monitor or tower) in a future setup and use them for surround channel bass response...

SolidSqual
11-30-2007, 01:52 AM
. . . get a bigger room. You're scarying the babies they've been hitting in the other thread.

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-30-2007, 01:56 AM
Mock up of a possible idea I have for these if they dont sell...

Vr3MxStyler2k3
11-30-2007, 02:23 AM
Yeah, I think I'm going to hold off on selling these for a while...

I think I'll find a cheap 2 ch receiver at goodwill or something and let my Mom use them to watch TV at low volumes or something...

Maybe I'll set them up outside in the garage and have an incredible garage rig...

I will find a use for them... some way or another...

Thanks for participating - and this thread can die now...
