Sorry if this has been done to death, but I'm curious about monoprice's component video cables. I don't have the highest end receiver right now, in fact, it doesn't even have HDMI connectors, so I'm merely looking to use component video to link my receiver to my new plasma.

So, I was looking at the PREMIUM 3-RCA Component Video Coaxial RG-6 18AWG 75Ohm CL2 Rated Cable. I can upgrade to Signals or some of the other popular/more expensive cables when I get a better receiver. But, for the time being, are these OK?

The Monoprice cables are fine. No need to get the premium ones though, the standard ones will work fine. I have both, and I found the premium cables way too stiff, and they put quite a strain on the connectors.

I haven't read any bad things about them, go for it.

Their audio cables are better than some popular store brand cables IMO. For your application, I say go for it. For when you upgrade, their HDMI cables are pretty good too, no complaints.

I ran there 35' component cable or my projector. No complaints here.

+1. Some of their stuff can look a little bit less than perfect (not always "expensive looking", if you can figure out what I mean by that!), but I have no complaints about their speaker wire or cables (component, S-Video, coaxial ...) compared to my old Monster gear, especially if you stick to the premium products (RG-6, 12AWG, etc.).

I use them and have no complaint. Well made. Connectors fit real tight.

I bought 2 Digital Optical, a Subwoofer cable and an HDMI from Monoprice.
All work just great.
Don't ever waste your $ with Monster cables.

Bought a bunch of fire retardant CL2 cables (HDMI and Component) from them for a through wall install. No complaints.
