Sherwood Newcastle rvr or amps

I have chance to get a sherwood newcastle receiver or pre-amp
process with a 5 channel amp, avp9080, or r945 receiver the
only problem is I never actually listen to them, read a couple of
reviews but haven't anyone say if they liked them or not , anybody audition the newcastle line . Jim.

Try to pick one up used (saw one on audiogon for $400!!!). The reviews are dead on for the pre/pro. Their receivers aren't actually too bad - I've auditioned the R945. Teamed up with good amplification the AVP-9080R is VASTLY superior - no contest. It compares with pre/pros over two-three times its retail price.

Thanks Rich, I can get them pre/pro and the amp for half price, Like I said earlier never listened to it and I haven't heard anybody compare them to another brand.
