Welcome to the party pal. Shipping is the blues. With no packing, send a message to the seller and/or paypal but don't expect much.

It's admirable that you wish to rehab them as they have a golden sound. Polk Audio has some replacements available. If you call, mention you are a Club Polk member. Which tweeters do you have? http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25377

Where do you live? A fellow polkie may live nearby with a spare part.

Have you tried to push on the cones of the woofers to see if they are frozen? I have given up on purchasing shipped vintage Polk's. The magnets are prone to breaking loose. Are both tweeters bad?
Sorry to hear the bad news, And welcome to Club Polk.

If the seller on ebay listed them as working and not to be DOA then the seller has an obligation to the buyer. Did you purchase shipping insurance for those speakers? If this is the case you might have a legitimate claim with paypal/shipper. Try working with the seller first if you want to return them for a refund or filing a claim with the shipper. Of course if your minds set on keepin' em and you're gunna try to resurrect them then you're assuming the responsibility and eating the loss. Good luck and welcome to CP.
