I have the a Denon 2807 reciever and am thinking about getting the Polk Lsi15floor speakers. Everyone says that these speakers need lots of power. If I were to connect these these speakers to the Denon 2807 could the speakers be damaged for under powering them. Would I have to spend 1000 for a separate amp to really get these speakers sounding good. Heres the setup I have right now:
front polk rti10
center polk csi5
surround polk fxi5
sub Velodyne DLS 4000R
receiver Denon 2807
would the LSi's be worth the upgrade from the Polk RTi10s?

Yes,they are worth the upgrade, and yes,you would need an amp for the LSI line.
Also,no,you don't need to spend a grand on an amp, plenty to be had for 500 and under on the used market.Look at adcom,b&k,rotel, parrasound, carver, and the list could go on forever.

Nice system you have there, I wouldnt upgrade speakers, instead spend the coin on an amp(multichannel) for the current setup and upgrade that sub.

What amp do you recommend? wattage? No more than a grand and once the difference from a Amp and a pre amp

I am to lazy to type what I agree with. Gotta love copy/paste:)
Search function works great on this topic, and many more. Does your Denon have PreOuts?
